People Who Rate "4.5" Out of 5 Stars On iWriter

I've always been curious as to why people do this.

When the site was first introduced, people were spam rejecting content because it didn't have the best anti-cheat methods in place and I got hit kind of hard by it.

Fast forward to today, I'm at 4.5, trying to get to 4.6 which comes with a huge pay raise in terms of how much you're given per piece.

The problem is, the majority of people for whatever reason automatically rate all content 4.5 out of 5. Is there a reason for this or do people just not feel that their money was worth 5 stars?

They never leave any critique to go off of on the reviews either. The latest 4.5 I got was "good work". Another one said "Really great article with an amazingly fast turn around. Thanks!"

You might want to look into OVER DELIVERING.

    Knock their socks off.

You can do this with quality and volume or you can do this by providing a different perspective.

Also, working closely with the client can lead to the client praising you to the high heavens.

Remember: no job is SO small as to be worth less than your VERY BEST.

This. My mantra is to always go well above and beyond when offering a product or service. For my application I strive to always overdeliver in terms of prompt, quality service...all the while offering follow up support where necessary. And it doesn't hurt to undercharge a bit too.

Writeaway has mentioned some good points, but wondering if you can work on your delivery timings and see if delivering faster then the specified time in addition to over delivering do any wonders for you?

I'm sure, with high prices (4.6 ratings), you need to have a top notch service too (like extra's, delivery time etc)

iWriter suggests a rating when you accept an article and it's easy to just go along with that suggestion.

That's interesting. I wonder how they calculate what that rating should be. There's no kitchen sink or code editor to implement heading tags or images and you have to double space after the end of a sentence to put something on a brand new line.

The only thing I can think of if that's the case is that it takes the keyword mentioned % into account. A lot of people will just use their title as the keyword and aren't looking for an article that hits the magical %. I've seen a lot of requests that mention not to try to shoot for any kind of density or mention the keyword at all, as most people want something naturally flowing.

That would actually make sense then if it randomly suggests a rating based on factors. I hope I'm wrong though because that would be a horrendous variable to judge work on.

iWriter I don't like them at all. I wouldn't suggest them.
I like them a hell of a lot more than Textbroker. You have to constantly fear getting demoted for one out of place comma over there. If you do get demoted, there's never any work at Level 3 and clients can take four days to review your content. Worse, your review is based on what the editors think of your work, not the client.

It takes the editors months to review content and if they don't get to it, your work is just rated neutral and passed up. For the time I was there, I had conflicting reviews and critique from two different editors. Having nit-picky editors bash your work when the client rates you a 5/5 is also a terrible system.

Also, the pay isn't anywhere near what it should be for the expectations they have of you. They want Academic quality with NO errors or punctuation mistakes for $.75 per 100 words. It's disgusting.

iWriter requesters know that if they give you high rating, you move up to Elite Plus and they have to now pay more for the same writer. Not all requesters are that sinister but I know of atleast one who works this way (not me).
In some cases, a client has to approve too many articles and just can't be bothered with leaving a review. Over-delivering is probably the only way to get their attention.

Another thing you can do is accept a lot of special requests, they usually come with a 5-star rating if you maintain a cordial relationship with the requester. It's one of the quickest ways to increase levels.

    Hello

I have ordered articles from Iwriter in the past , and yes I can confirm that when a requester reviews an article Iwriter will suggest a rating. I guess the suggestion they give is an average star rating that the writer already has.

Although I have ordered articles there myself - I would suggest you move away from them as a writer. Establish your own website to advertise your services there. If you are a good enough writer demand a higher rate of pay.

If you do want to stick with content mills then go for higher paying ones like Textbroker.
