Is this a safe way to protect hoplinks and do any of you do it? Seems pretty straightforward and simple to me, but wanted to ask anyway |

It should be ok for what you need. I thibk that actual cloaking software or even having a domain that you mask and forward is even better.

I have a download cloaker I can send, which you can either create an encrypted page for your website, or it can create a link for a webpage but the link will say whatever you want it to. You could use bit.ly, a simple url shortener to shorten the links which will also tell you how many people click on the link. There are probably many more but those are the ones I use. Let me know if you would like to use the software I mentioned and I'll send you the file. It's an exe, but it's perfectly safe ![]() Brian | |

I would advise you run your own private service. If TinyURL or any other service decides to close their doors, you'll be left high and dry. The are lots of scripts out there that can do this for you. HTH Glenn |

You can do it that way, but I prefer to use PHP redirects. It takes 10 seconds once you learn how to do it. There's a video on my site that shows you how to do it or you can just go and google it, it's a much better way to cloak your links. Sean |

| I don't do it. I'm not suggesting that their service doesn't work, but (a) there are better methods, and (b) depending unnecessarily on the continued existence and reliability of such services perhaps isn't the best way to set up and run a business (look at the scare people using "tr.im" have recently had, even if that one's more or less resolved now). |
