Selling Ebook though a one page website

After browsing the forums for a long time I decided to take action and work out my plan. I signed up and like to get some feedback on my idea.

1) Setup a simple one page site - sales letter with a call to action on the bottom - that is an excellent Ebook on a topic in the self-help niche.

2) Drive traffic through paid ads.

3) Patiently see how many copies get sold.

Yeah, sounds simple, I know, isn't that easy.. I'm aware. But that's the gist of it.

My questions:

1 - What is the best route or service to sell an Ebook through on my own site?

2 - Is "buysellads" the way to go or is there a better payed ads service?

3 - Any other feedback you you are willing to share with me?

Much appreciated,
Walter

Check out SendOwl. They will deliver your product to the buyers for you and you can set it up to only allow so many downloads per customer, download time expiration, and so on. Easy to set up and you can accept affiliates through their system as well. They'll also automatically handle refunds to your customers, and they'll automatically subscribe your buyers to Aweber or whatever email provider you use. Integrates with PayPal and/or Stripe.

Thanks for sharing that site, looks really good!

But getting back to my overall plan here, am I missing something?

-sell it through affiliate networks like clickbank. It's easy to set up.
-create youtube videos on the subject and put a link to your page.
-i wouldn't use buy sell ads. You'll do better doing very target PPC
    -do SEO for your website

    Walter,

Sounds simple enough. You will need a payment processor. I would suggest e-Junkie for something like it . . . very inexpensive and a good choice for security.

I would advise against your #3 above. It suggests waiting rather than getting out and hustling in the promotion of your book. If you don't promote it (even if you do some paid advertising), your sales will be way fewer than if you get out there and seriously promote and market your book. It makes all the difference in the world.

    The very best to you,

    Steve

    1. All depends on if you want to have affiliates or not. You can use any number
of marketplace such as ClickBank, JvZoo etc.

    2. You can use Google Adwords, FB ads, 7Search and several other PPC services.

    3. Your challenge will always be getting traffic to your site and if you pay
for that traffic make sure you are making a profit. That is easier said than
    done for an ebook.

Build up an email list first, then promote to them via email to your sales letter page.

Also, don't promote in the self-help niche. What's the difference between you and Tony Robbins? Or you and Les Fields? Or you and Nightingale-Conant? What will differentiate a newbie like you to these experts, and even uncover experts that you don't even know about?

Depending on your budget you may want to use a processing platform which does not charge you any up-front costs, but only a percent of your profits. Some disagree with this but I know what it's like to start from nothing... that's where I started.

JvZoo. W+. and if you want to do it more on your own then there are WP plugins but I have no idea if you would find any for free. You can always go direct to PayPal with a simple "buy button" it's up to you

I've heard good things about Gumroad too. They allow for variable pricing or a "pay what you want" feature which can help you to get more sales sometimes depending on if the sales copy is good enough and the product is in a niche with people willing to buy.

I would stay away from paid advertising at first unless you have the budget for it.

If you do then by far your best bet would probably be FB ppc. You just have to be sure you've got your targeting on POINT! Or you're just throwing money away.

Media Buys through buysellads isn't a horrible idea but I find it a waste in a lot of cases unless you already know your offer converts for your respective market. If you don't, stay far away from mediabuys until you have your metrics in check.

If you don't have much, or almost no budget at all then you can resort to things like posting around facebook, twiter, and forums.

People HATE to hear this but truth be told is that if you're not selling to one of the "major niche markets" this stuff does still work! It just takes time... and LOTS of effort. But it works.

BuzzBundle Social Media Management Software, Monitoring Marketing Tools
This is a great tool to use for this purpose... you can pay for it or roll with the free version after the 15 day trial period. If you need to learn how to use it i highly suggest searching for tutorials on youtube. You'll learn how to use it quickly that way.

    What's there to know?

You set up the ebook for sale, typically using a product selling service like Clickbank or Ejunkie to cover the payment processing and delivery. (I personally sell ebooks with Ejunkie and they work fine and are cheap at $5/month)

    You write a sales page.

You send paid traffic to the sales page and see if it converts.

It's incredibly simple as far as most business models go.

That being said, your conversion rate will make or break you. If your page isn't profitable, then it'll just be a drain of money. So put a lot of effort into making your sales page as excellent as possible.

Thanks for sharing all your insights with me. Got some good food for thought here.

Somehow I feel strongly once I figure out the correct PPC campaign and set up a good system that you can leverage this and make great profits.

Would love to read a, "getting started with ppc" guide or follow some really good bloggers in that world.

    Any suggestions?
