Amazon products integration using API and Wordpress

I'm trying to move away from my reliance on AdSense and have found a nice niche that I am interested in.
So far I've built a Wordpress site and have added some core factual articles. Now I am building up some more targeted articles.
Anyways, I would like to put Amazon products on the site. Whilst I could manually add each product (which I might) I would still like to keep the prices up to date automatically, and have the links go to the user's country version of Amazon.
I'm quite happy to code and hack from scratch, use a plugin or a mix of both. So what would the Amazon Pros out there recommend to get me started.
