Is stumbleupon a garbage traffic for AdSense?

Hello Warriors,

I have two questions about AdSense and I wish you got the answers..

1# Is stumbleupon a garbage traffic for Adsense?
Like if my website is only receiving traffic from StumbleUpon.. Is it wrong?

2# Is getting content from other websites and changing it to my way right with Google?
I'm having a website like "ViralNova, Distractify, LittleThings..", I ask about if I view content from other sites in the niche and changing it to my way will affect my account on AdSense?

Thank you for replying Warriors.. Have a great day!

1# Is stumbleupon a garbage traffic for Adsense?
NO but that traffic might not be effective.

2# Is getting content from other websites and changing it to my way right with Google?
Yes, if you're giving credit to main source.

      So... yes?

      If it's not effective - it's garbage.

Stumbleupon isn't what it used to be. It used to be a valuable place to pass time and discover awesome content. But now its more of an overload of sites populated solely for the purpose of gaming Alexa rankings and boosting page views to sell ad space.
Sounds like the way most things go - that aren't maintained.

Google would be even more a cesspool than it is if it wasn't for updates.

If you want real success in anything online, you have to do it the hard way.
      Amen.

In my opinion, there is nothing like direct, targeted traffic. I don't see Stumbleupon being a source for any real adsense revenue whatsoever. I believe even Alexa doesn't count the views from Stumbleupon by users using their browser plugins or addons anymore. If you want real success in anything online, you have to do it the hard way. Hope this helps!

Don't focus on a single method of traffic. Diversify your traffic to increase more revenue from adsense. Also make sure to check the quality of your site traffic.

I do not like to relies on one way only. Most of the time I use many ways to drive traffic on my site. I think one should use various way. If one use various ways & if one ways make false, other ways will be effective. So be practical, Never wait for one way only. Thanks

From my experience, most of the traffic you'll get from SU won't CLICK

It's like a cheap SUGAR HIGH

you'd be better off with LOWER VOLUME but HIGHLY QUALIFIED traffic

You want ad clickers not page BOUNCERS.

SU delivers the latter (for the most part)

I run a similar site and most of my content is sourced from sites like ViralNove, you just need to make sure you add a bit of unique content yourself, I started blindly embedding viral Youtube videos and promoting them and got my Adsense account banned.

And yes StumbleUpon is useless for AdSense, most people who come to your site are hardly interested and leave almost immediately.

From personal experience, I used to run a viral site and got somewhat decent Adsense earnings from SU. For example, if a post got me 1,400 SU views, I would usually see about $4 to $5 in earnings.

Sometimes i would also share on Reddit, and earnings would easily double or triple.

In essence, I saw earnings from sources that people tend to quickly dismiss. So your best bet is to test with ad positioning, color, and whatever else you can think of. Don't necessarily go with a popular answer until you have personally tested everything yourself.

how long it takes you to earn 4 to 5 dollars per day?

I pretty much hit the ground running, earning those amounts on the same day i shared the articles (due to the fact that the page views were instantaneous).

Then the earnings would die down again after 2 days, because the effects of SU and Reddit would wear off. So you have to keep repeating the process.

Careful with SU, though, because the views are highly inconsistent. Oftentimes I would share an article and get no views whatsoever; it almost felt like some sort of punishment or "cap" that the system placed on your account.

Supposedly, the wise thing to do is to share about 9 different URLs, and make the 10th your own URL, just to keep everything varied. Sadly, this didnt always work for me, despite keeping things diversified.

In other words, the SU system has a mind of its own. If i had a conspiracy theory, I would say that they purposely give you tons of views at first while your account is still new, as a way to let you know they have the traffic. Then they would put a cap on your account -- so that maybe, just maybe, you would switch to paid advertising on their site.

There are internet marketers out there that generate well over 6 figures a year building out adsense sites...I don't think it's a great monetization strategy for the average person. Focus on building a responsive list of subscribers you can sell to when the time is right. Just my two cents...
