Post Strategy to Go Viral

I posted here about a week ago. I was originally going to be creating a niche site with 4 or 5 pages. I'm thinking of changing tracks, and I will combine all pages (same content) into one long post that will be around 4000 words long.
At the moment, I'm looking into infographics and pictures to make it visually engaging, but I was hoping for ideas on strategy of where to post, how to generate initial traffic. I believe the content is very good and of huge value in my niche.
The idea of this post is that it is simplifying a complicated topic. So, if I reach my readers correctly, then they will get all they need to know form the one post and I won't need to read anything else. So, I won't be generating click through content or anything else.
So, what is the best strategy to monetize something like this? I was thinking of posting on buzzfeed, and try to generate more traffic through reddit or something.
Also, any ideas on whether this is a better strategy than having 4-5 pages in a niche site?
Any ideas would be great, I'm about 70% way through editing the content at the moment, cheers!
