How can one create an ad sharing sites like....

Hello guys,

I have been wondering how one can create an ad revsharing site like traffic monsoon, mypayingads and myadvertising pays. I would like to know how it works and how to build one from scratch. What are the things to learn and where. If outsourcing is needed where can one get the right ones. Thanks guys

  • It's not all that hard, actually. Rather than go through the whole process, though, I'll provide you with some links to check out, instead.

A basic rundown of what's involved:

You could hire someone to build one for you, but it's cheaper and easier to just buy a script that you can simply upload onto your own server. Like one of these, for instance:

This Google search shows a bunch of these scripts, from various developers, that you can check out:

Thank you Bradley J. But does it just involve adding up scripts. What about payments and how does the site owner make money enough to pay members at the end of a given time. Thanks

Both payment processing and payouts should be coded into the script. Basically, the advertisers pay the site owner (you) the whole amount, and then you pay out a percentage to the members. Except for having to find your advertising partners, a proper script should make it a fairly hands-free operation.

Like most things, you get what you pay for, so you probably want to stay away from cheap scripts. Less features usually, and support can sometimes be non-existent for them.

If the site owner collects the whole amount where does he get the extra to pay them daily till the ad share expires. Lets say the owner has 10 members who each pay $10 at the end of the duration when the shares expires how does he pay out maybe 120% gain, he probably promised them.

  • Check out #5 in the first link I provided for a more detailed description of how it works. This isn't really my area of expertise, though, so hopefully someone with first-hand knowledge will chime in.

I do a lot of coding, though, so I do understand how to write scripts.

Ttraffic would be the biggest problem, for sure, though. Rev sharing is only worth your time if your advertisers bring in massive amounts of visitors.

  • As far as your other question, it's not about making 'extra' money in order to pay them.

Let me explain by using Google Adsense and Adwords as an example, since they are the two sides of the rev-sharing platform.

From the Adsense perspective, the publishers sign up at your site and give you, say, $10,000 in exchange for getting their ad in front of one million people.

From the Adwords perspective, the advertisers (site owners) also sign up under you. They then add your code to their site, and every time one of your publishers ads gets shown on their site you pay them a few cents. This gets tracked and credited into their account automatically by the script.

Once their account reaches a pre-determined threshold, the script will take care of making the payment to their Paypal account or whatever.

You'll have to work out how much to charge publishers for the total impressions, and how much to pay advertisers per impression, so that you can still make money, too.

If you've done the math properly, you should get the $10,000 up-front to put into your bank account, then have to pay out say $7,500 to your advertisers once the million views are met, leaving you with a $2,500 profit.

Does that make more sense to you? Btw, I'm just pulling those numbers out of the air for example purposes. Don't rely on them.
