Just had a good friend email me this link... Pretty cool, Im not sure EXACTLY what changes they will be making or if it will even matter. They do say that people on the back end of google ( adswords and stuff I would imagine ) may be able to notice a change. Thought I would share it here. WOW: Google to Launch a New Version of Google Search Micah Rush <>< |

What's the difference? I only see that there are no more Adwords on the page that I searched. Interesting news. Thanks for sharing ![]() George |

Wow... I just tried it. With one of my keywords on the old search I was # 44 with the new search I was # 30. Interesting. I also noticed the main product site, which is always #1 in the old search, was not even in the results!!!

Looks like a knee jerk response to the threat that is coming from Bing. Either way...these can only be a good thing for consumers like us. Everyone wins. |

Hmm...I just tried it on that site that is referenced in the article, and it looks like a lot of older, and out-of-date pages are coming up on some search terms I'm ranked for. There's one site that is currently ranking #1 for a broad search term that I used to be #1 for which offers basically no information, looks like it was built in 1998, is PR0, and doesn't show up anywhere on old google. It's not the only one either, at least for that term. And no adwords? Really? That can't just be a beta thing...but it sure is strange. |

Don't worry... Once Google implements their new infrastructure you can be sure those ads will be there for you, lol... Everyone should take a look at this and run some tests with the sandbox. After all, Google is actually asking for developer/user input about what they're seeing and what is/isn't right before they actually implement "caffeine" or its eventual derivative. If you're interested in some initial reactions, I blogged about some of them earlier today: Google Caffeine: Initial Reactions to G’s “Next-Generation” Search Infrastructure | Carson Brackney |

Another link to an article also from Mashable that puts Google Caffeiene to the test: Google Caffeine: A Detailed Test of the New Google They make a comment that states: "New Google relies more on keywords: SEO professionals, your job just got a lot harder. The algorithm’s definitely different. It has more reliance on keyword strings to produce better results." I certainly hope it's not going to be A LOT harder! I can see things are definitely going to change, but hopefully we can adapt promptly. What do you think? |
