Default Camtasia for Mac August 25th

It's about time...

Hi, I'm a Mac, and I have Camtasia... (Visual Lounge)

Interesting that the price point is $99 for the introductory offer. Leads me to guess that some of the publishing options will be truncated vs. the Windows version.

I've also heard screenflow is awesome, but didn't want to try it out yet since I like to stick with one piece of software - but that could explain why Camtasia is $99 on Mac.

I use Camtasia and Screenflow (between Mac and PC) and do prefer the editing capabilities of Camtasia. I have been waiting for Camtasia to come out for the mac for a long time and I can safely say that I will be one of the first to buy it for the Mac as that will save a ton of rebooting into my Bootcamped PC to record all my videos.

@ Brian - Thanks brother! Good to be in dis hizzay.

@ScreenFlow Fans - I'm totally with you - ScreenFlow is just awesome awesome. My only gripe with it is that it records your master file into a proprietary format that requires its interface for editing and export. Clearly, that's not the end of the world, but if I want to do a quick screen cap of something thats part of a larger composition, the workflow of ScreenFlow (har) makes that a bit of an wank.

So, I've been using iShowU HD for work where I'm not going to finish in ScreenFlow (say, if I'm in Final Cut or Premiere and it's part of a larger edit).

Camtasia for Mac seems to be the best of both on this front. [Name Withheld] has been a beta tester for Camtasia for Mac and says that he's torn. Ultimately he's likely to stick with ScreenFlow because he's aces with it.

For my part, I just cant wait to review it.

AWWW YEAH!

@jmonda - Apples next operating system (OSX 10.6) is supposed to have a function in QuickTime X that allows for Screen Recording.
