How many of you sell ebooks from PLR? How much do you change them?

I am curious what people are doing with their PLR ebooks. How many of you are actually using the sales page etc that comes with the PLR. I am just curious if its a good model to follow by just selling PLR proucts and making a few chages to it?

If a ton of people have that PLR package how are you making money with it or you just driving traffic to your product?

Any advice about using PLR ebooks would be great.

Thanks,
Jason

    Jason Hi.

I do use PLR but I put "alot of effort" into editing the content, reformatting it, chaing the sales letter (most are very poor) and changing the graphics.

The effort involved means I don't do alot of this work. But it is worth it.

In terms of numbers, most PLR eventually get passed around so much that many marketers will have them ... but the good news is most never do anything with them at all!

The stats I have seen are something like 1 in a 100 or even less ever do anything with the PLR. Most bundle them as bonuses and pass them around.

My best advice is, if you want to do this, don't go with the heard. Market the books (after improvements) to the end users in a niche. They pay much more and they won't comepte with you. Also your material will remain fairly unique to you. You'll also build a name for yourself among those that really matter - "the real buyers" as opposed to marketers.

    Good luck

You can get some killer PLR in niches that you never thought were profitable.

Depending on the quality of the PLR will determine if I need to make any changes to the content.

Typically I won't make any changes to the PLR e-book content.

However in the sales page content I will modify that to how I want, not so much for the duplicate content aspect, but to try to make it more unique and set apart from the other marketers promoting the same PLR products.

How do yall go about promoting the products. Are you using pay per click or you just using article marketing etc? I have access to some pretty good stuff and was trying to figure out what to do with it.

It depends, i use a variety of way but the one that i am most comfortable with at the moment is Adwords, forum marketing, and affiliate sales. Still think article marketing is a chore though.. Respect for those who can write consistently than i do.. you people have much patience, and brain cells.. :-)

The key to using PLR is not to use it as it is and resell it back.. you might make some money, but you are missing on the cash cow altogether.. Besides, you have to compete with thousands others who have the same identical stuff and who will look into promoting it as wll

The real deal is to edit it and give it a whole new shiny interface, from the site, ecover, to the infoproduct inside. Rebrand it, and rename it, and voila you have something unique to call your own..

I use PLR material more so as a way for reference. Most of the PLR I have run across isn't really fit for anything other than MFA's UNLESS you are having a writer write it specifically for you.

Thanks for the responses. I have a great ebook on Autism that I was wanting to try out. I just was trying to see what I should do with it to make it work. I really dont think the ebook it self needs much tweaking but I could add some color to it. Plus I need to make it into a PDF.

What would you pay to have a sales copy created? Just curious since you dont want the same sales page how much is a good price for that?

    Thanks,
    Jason

People like Ray Edwards and Mike Morgan charge as much as $30,000 and I don't know if they even accept new clients.

I suggest you learn copywriting and then at least you'll be in a better poistion to assess the quality of any work you outsource.

    Goof luck

Thanks for the responses. I was just trying to see what other people where doing here with their PLR etc.

I have had one product out that did really well at least I think it did and I am working on another and was just looking for some ideas. I am not much on writing the sales page so thats why I was curious to how much they cost.

    Thanks,
    Jason
