Let's face it. For beginners, there are marketing strategies that will work ...and there are marketing strategies that won't. Don't get the word 'beginner' confused, though. I consider someone a beginner marketer when they are without a list, have had no previous successful experience, and are currently not making money online with their marketing 'efforts.' Take product launches, for example. All around this forum you hear people talking about their upcoming 'product launch' and how they need to get partners before the big day. You see posts and threads in the Joint Venture section of people promoting their affiliate program, begging and pleading for someone to help them out. Then the big day comes ...only to prove to be a huge flop. All of that hard work - making their product, contacting tons of potential partners, writing their sales copy - proves futile. All of that hard work, right down the drain. There are exceptions to this, of course, but more times than not, this scenario seems to be the case. Plain and simple, for a beginner marketer, product launches are not the 'ace in the hole' that they may be looking for. Honestly, for beginner marketers, there is no 'ace in the hole.' At least, none that I've found. I'm using product launches here simply as an example of things that generally don't work out well with beginner marketers. There is a myriad of other techniques and strategies that don't really benefit beginner marketers. Why is it, then, that most beginner marketers seem to flock to these sort of methods? It seems that everywhere you turn on this forum, you see someone trying to 'launch' their continuity program or product, trying to funnel people into backend offers and upsells, creating free+shipping offers, etc. Why do so many beginner marketers choose this path, when there are hundreds of less-flashy, less-intrusive, in-your-face techniques that work far better for the newcomer to online marketing? There are so many unsexy methods to making money online, it's ridiculous. I'm not saying all of these methods work at the push of a button, I'm simply saying that with hard work and a little tenacity, you're almost guaranteed success - at least, eventual success. I'm saying all this to make a simple point to all new marketers out there reading this. There is no 'ace in the hole.' There is no method out there that will make you thousands of dollars in a day. ...And sometimes, the simplest, most basic concepts of marketing, at the end of the day, are what will make you the most money. When first starting your marketing career, don't overlook those concepts in your road to success. Start small, work you way big, and instead of playing on the sidelines, one day you'll be in the game, ripping it up with the big players in your field. All the best, Jesse Kemmerer kemmerer.j@gmail.com |
