Making Money W/ Weebly

So my question has previously been asked but all of the threads I found were outdated.

So at the end of 2015 here I am just now wanting to jump into affiliate marketing. I can write articles no problem. Content creation is the easy part. The difficult part is all the techie stuff. That and for a long story short, I have absolutely nothing to give to get this going. So I'm thinking weebly (free option) because it's easy to build a site for someone, not techie so to speak.

Any thoughts?

I could use any advice, thoughts, suggestions or anything else that tickles your fancy that you might like to share. I apologize in advance if this thread was placed inappropriately but I didn't see a section dedicated to people super new to all of this.

Looking forward to any replies!

If you're going to use a sitebuilder use SquareSpace or maybe LeadPages.

Actually I did look into square space but felt that weebly might be easier to use. I'll take a look again. Also, I'm not sure if they have any restrictions for using affiliate links.

Have you considered WordPress? I have used Weebly, WordPress, Blogger, etc for a long long time and WordPress is still the gold standard for uploading good content, and/or monetizing it. Weebly isn't terrible to use, but it is a bit further down my list. Also, why just limit yourself to a free member if you do decide to go with Weebly? I recommend taking a peek at the paid upgrade benefits they offer. If you are going to be investing a lot of TLC to your site, then why wouldn't you want to set yourself in the best way possible?

That's the plan. Weebly has the option to upgrade and I was under the presumption I wouldn't lose my content if I do that, (I won't have to reupload or anything). I've heard that using a Blogger site for free is a bad move because you aren't allowed to use affiliate links. The goal is to use a site for free (albeit initially) that won't penalize me for using affiliate links, and also be easy to upgrade down the line. What do you think?

I am super open for any constructive criticism with regards to my strategy. I think I have a lot to offer and I'm looking forward to pairing my content with an appropriate product.

Thanks again for your initial response

I agree, WordPress over pretty much everything else. Weebly, Wix, Yola, Blogspot, etc WordPress is in my opinion better overall.

Blogger/Blogspot is one I suggest staying away from unless your not needing to post any affiliate links. As someone already mention, Google will often shut down a blog they feel doesn't offer good enough content, or is just simply trying to generate affiliate income. Lol I should know as I have had several of my Blogger blogs terminated out of the blue for what I suspect is one of those reasons.

You might also look at Wix and Yola if you're going that route.

You can use affiliate links on Blogger blogs. You can't use them on Wordpress.com ( where they are hosting a site for you - for example noracolleen.wordpress.com ).

You can however install the Wordpress software to your own hosted domain as others have mentioned, and you can add affiliate links and any other content you wish there.

If you choose one of the free options that starts with a sub-domain like Weebly, note that if you later choose to use your own domain the URLs of all your content up to that point will change, and you will lose any search engine benefit you may have gained. Sometimes the previous URLs can be redirected, sometimes not, it depends on the provider you choose.

With Wordpress in the picture you will realize that all the other options are basically useless and outdated. Wordpress is easy to learn and suitable for newbies and can be customized to look like anything you want.

If I were you, I'd start with Wordpress and stick with Wordpress

I wouldn't mess with the free stuff, honestly. It is not worth it and you do not own it which is just not a prudent way of doing business

From my viewpoint, Weebly, its ok. But, I really recommend you buy hosting, domain and install wordpress in this domain. It make your site more professional, and more security than free blog like weebly, blogspot,... Of cause, you can write content and put it in web 2.0 if your content is good and useful, but i think its really hard.

    Hello
better to spend a little money to buy domain now than having to redo everything after your business and been successful.

OMG, Nora, I asked the very same question (without the weebly)) here a few weeks ago. GO TO WARRIORS FOR HIRE where you will find everything you are asking for.

lol! Well I'm glad I'm not the only one! I just read each and every post and thought, ok! Ok! I trust you. Geez.

I'm just not thrilled with having to learn it to be honest. I've tried before. I'm not so sure why it's so easy for me to pick up some things and "techie-ish" stuff is like a foreign language. That and parallel parking. It's just frustrating.

It's so much easier to gravitate to what you're good at I suppose. If I had the money I would pay for someone to deal with the rest.

So building a DIY website it is. :p

And btw THANK YOU! for the thread reference. I was hoping to inevitably find a good newbie spot.
