Negative feedback on ebay - can I remove it..

Hi folks.

Yes I understand it is probably not possible, but what is best way to proceed regarding it.

I Have an ebay account for about 7 years so far, but barely use it. I had some used items that was listing, just to get rid of them. The issue is that one of the items got sold, buyer paid for it, but I have already got rid of few months ago, but forgot to cancel the listing.

I apologized to the buyer and gave him a refund few days later. Now I see he left me negative feedback saying that he paid but I canceled the offer.

This is my 1st negative feedback and due to low overall score it decreased my reputation to 80%.

I'm not active ebay seller, but from every once in a while I sell some stuff that find around the house that I don't need.

Is there a way somehow to ask him to get this feedback removed... ? What is best to tell him? Should I contact ebay?

I realize I made a mistakes because I forgot to cancel the listing, but hey we are all people and we make mistakes every once in a while. And I gave him refund as well.

It is really a pity to have my reputation hurt for some 10$ item or so.

thanks

You DESERVED that feedback. You did not maintain your business - you sold an item you did not have - and the buyer wasted his time finding the product, ordering it ...and dealing with you when it went south. You should have refunded him double what he paid - for his time and trouble.

I don't see how you fix this. You should NOT contact this buyer and if you tell this story to ebay you may find yourself an EX-ebay seller.

Don't know what you guys are on but you are completely wrong.....

Even if the buyer agreed, they can't change or remove feedback and eBay won't do it either...

Yea wasted 2 minutes of his time placing the order and 2 more minutes writing that comment. What a "bad" criminal I am.

For real I've seen people scammed hundreds of dollars and get away with that. Now for 10 dollars you say I do deserve to get my account shut down because I wanted to sell my old items.

Not to be offensive and with my full respect but I don't agree on that.

Of course the Negative Feedback is very disgusting for any seller. How many positive feedback do you have? If you have 95% or, 98% positive feedback, there is no problem for the rest 5% or, 2%. So please carry on to get more & more positive feedback. Thanks a lot.

I have 400 points so far, only positive and maybe 1-2 neutral. This neg. dropped it to 80%. I don't know if with time will delude among the rest.

    HI

feedback to the customer is a power tool

it is true, it is a protection for the customer, I also buy on E bay and is important to the security, but that means putting serious attention...... is important!!!
    I'm sorry for you but
a bad experience can become a positive start....

I have received a negative feedback as well because they simply did not like the product. I have sold the same handmade product time and time again with no problem, This person never gave me an opportunity to refund the money or even tell me they were not satisfied. They should have to contact the seller and give the seller a chance to work the situation out before they can leave a negative. At times you cannot make some certain people happy!

The only way Ebay will remove a negative feedback is if the buyer left a racial remark or made threats. Usually they don't actually remove the negative either, they just delete the message.

They won't even remove a negative if somebody said "Great seller! A+++" sorry you're stuck with it.

You should accept this feedback. As you have neglect to remove the listing and this is your fault. However as you have said you are not an active eBay seller than why are you worry about it?

Well i'm not very active seller now, but maybe in the future I'll be. So I like to keep my reputation clean.

Hopefully with time it's value will decrease.

Exactly, keep working at it. Get involved on social media and start driving more traffic to your listings in hopes of driving your sales up and burying his review. It won't erase it, but it will help buffer any damage made.

AFAIK, negative feedback can be removed under the following circumstances:

EBay determines that the feedback was unwarranted
Both parties mutually agree to remove feedback for that transaction

While it's not impossible to get feedback removed, it's really hard. In your case, it seems the feedback was entirely deserved. You're just going to have to live with it.

...Which builds the case for selling on your OWN website. Something that you control.

Nevertheless you could try and bury the negative feedback. Or simply create a new account and start over. You said you don't use the account often...right? Move on and prove your worth with the next buyer you come across.

The answer is YES you can,

    BUT
    through the person who gave
    you the negative feedback,
Speak to him and ask him
what can you do to get him
to give you a positive feed back....

Other then that i don't think there
    is any way around this.....
    good luck...
