PayDotCom - What is Wrong Now?

I am getting a bunch of emails from possible customers telling me they cannot order because they they press the order button a page commes up stating

"Could not connect to db: "

So I went onto PayDotCom's website and checked a few other sites. They all the same thing. Why does their order page keep going down. I am tired of this!

The emails date back an hours, so I know its been down at least that long... How much longer?

I definitely agree they seem to be having a lot of technical issues recently. I lost my password and can't access the system I also requested a new password with no response whatsoever

I have opened a ticket with their technical help desk no response. I can't register for a new account because my e-mail is registered I guess Mike Filsaime should sort out its technical issues otherwise he will be losing a lot of affiliates

The last support ticket I entered in Paydotcom took 3 weeks to get answered. I am putting out a new product soon and its not going to be with paydotcom.

Yep, they are back up now. I am guessing about 5 hours of down time. That is really unacceptable in my book, but there aren't really any other options.

Yes, this does not sound good. I'm about to add one of my established products to paydotcom so hope that it doesn't let me down.

There'd be nothing worse than a mailings list hearing about you product then possible buyers not being able to purchase and then give up.

Just checked my site and same problem exists... From day one I have never liked PDC. I only use it as the last resort. Now I don't think I will ever put it as one of the options.

As of today 8-13-09 1:00PM PST PDC is working at my end because I just got this notice below a few minutes ago... There was about 24 hours or so that no sales were made so that explains the reason why. I though it just was a fluke. However, I've had more issues with ClickBank than PDC over the past 12 months.

      Dean Shainin,

      CONGRATULATIONS!

This way you can make sure its exactly what you want without having to pay a penny.
Sounds like a very good offer - had a quick look and on face value your site appears to be the best value/ better features of any affilate network I've looked at
      - nice clean site layout - all you need is to get activity - good luck
OBTW - how long will your $500 offer be good for?

Hi Ryan, thanks for the offer. PayGear looks like it was very well done, I have just PMed you. I realize you are somewhat new, but can you tell me if your site has had any down time, not being able to process orders?

I also had problems with PDC when I first launched my affiliate program. Mainly, NO response from their customer support. I've since switched to e-junkie and am very happy with their service.

I mentioned the problem to Mike on twitter last night. He was very prompt, got the problem fixed, and DM'd me to let me know. There are a lot of people who refuse to work through PDC, but I have never had any real issues with them. I'll be sticking with PDC as long as Mike keeps it running.

To be honest, I've had SO many more problems with Clickbank.

Hrm, I never got an answer with him via Twitter! Lucky.

I submitted a help desk ticket a month or so ago and never got a response. Just sent 2 emails, hopefully one will work.

This gives me more incentive to get all my niche products moved over to SynergyX too, though. I'd been slacking but think I finally reached the boiling point.

    Ryan,

How many affiliates do you have in your marketplace?
I understand your new, so was just wondering?

A couple of people have said they have more issues with Clickbank and I agree I am not the biggest fan of clickbank either, but what issue could be bigger than a payment processor site not able to process payments. I cannot imagine any issue being larger than that.

I'd use clickbank If I were to sell any product. It's worth the price a 100%

There's a free service I recently discovered, though it's not that popular but it has a lot of great features. Plimus - Sell Online, Web Ecommerce, Online Shopping Software

All of my affiliate links get redirected to a 404 Page and I don't know what to do. I really think Mike Filsaime has to do something about it if he doesn't want his site to fail completely.

This is a common. I had an associate who used paydotcom in the past, and he had this same problem-that was over a year ago.

What *amazes* me is that Mike Filsaime owns paydotcom, yet he cant spring for a few extra servers. (I always assumed that was the problem, an overloaded server.)

You would think a marketer, especially one of the "gurus" would understand how exceptionally important a payment processor that is *never* down is.

To be honest I wouldn't touch PDC with the proverbial bargepole, it's clunky slow and as has been pointed it, it's down for much of the time.

Used it when it first came out and wasn't impressed
