Google Contributor lowering your AdSense revenue?

Have you heard about Google Contributor? It effectively prevents AdSense ads from showing up on your site, and it's run by Google!

(more info: What Google Contributor means to AdSense Publishers - Amped Sense)

Now that it's been public for about a month, has anyone noticed a big difference in their AdSense revenue? Up or down?

I've seen a slight decrease in my RPM lately, but don't want to blame this unless others are seeing the same...

Anyone opting out of Contribute for their websites?

I was referring to the visitors. All the publishers will just opt out, so the visitors are giving money to google for nothing... "Great Service" great job Google.

      Scam.....

Thanks for letting us know. This is really a ridiculous and off course quite weird. i don't know why google doing this. They first make YouTube RED a paid subscription to see ads free videos. And Now they come up with this.

I think you're making an assumption here, with NO basis in fact.

Some publishers will surely opt out (i.e. yourself, I assume), but I DON'T think that all publishers will opt out.

In fact, I think that the publishers who opt out will actually be in the minority, and expect that Google drew the same conclusion, based on actual experience during the beta period.

For the visitor, it's basically paid ad blocking, but the publisher can "opt out" and choose to have their ads shown, regardless.

Personally, I think a visitor would be foolish to pay for a service that only offers partial blocking of ads, but they are free to spend their money that way if they choose.

What's de difference between this two cases?

    - I use Google Contributor in my site and give Google some of the money
    - I put my own banner asking visitors to pay a monthly fee to skip ads and I keep all the money for me

I don't understand why Google does this.

In the other hand, is like Google assuming that add market is going to die sooner or later.

The difference is that you have to process the payment, and keep track of users who paid on each page visit. You could hide ads by IP, but if they log in from another device, the ads will show up. Google handles the payments, solves the tracking problem by tracking people by their Google account.

Also, whoever said you have to opt out of this is incorrect. This isn't mandatory, you have to opt-in to contributor. This is only beneficial to some websites.

Publishers (those who display adsense) are in by default, and can choose to opt out.

Visitors (those who see adsense) are out by default, and have to sign up and pay to use the service.

Yeah but these ads give much less revenue compared to other ad units as it is only to engage users.
