What is the best (for the price) membership site software available today?

Will be building one in the MMO with lots of content.....

      Personally I use MemberMouse because of the support and great intergration.

      Whichever one you choose make sure it has a professional team behind it that is keeping everything up to date especially if you are using a Wordpress website. Everytime Wordpress or other plugins update there is the potential for problems with your membership software.

      The last thing you want to have to do is change to a different one when you have loads of members so take your time with this decision.

    As a full time online professional from last 4 years I am using several wordpress plugin ( optimizepress, Wishlist member, Instamember etc) to create membership site for my clients and for myself.

    But the thing is all of them has some efferent feature with membership option. so, I tried to move here and there to find out best plugin for me and now I am using wishlist member for my sties.

    You can try it too. I don't recommend you to use wishlist it is just my experience with membership plugin ....

    If you aren't particularly technical -- you may want to check out:

    Kajabi (now in Beta). Hosted, does much of what is needed SPECIFICALLY for a membership site. They've also opened up their HTML so you can plant tracking code (I'd consider Agile CRM), or doing custom page development. That said they aren't public about much yet -- and haven't told me their pricing on CC transactions (may be pretty high). Seems a little 'black box' for my liking in their marketing... gloss over too many details, but would be #1 for hassle free membership site for sure (with some drawbacks)

    Member Mouse seems to be a great option if you want to self-host your content on WP or otherwise. Using Optimize Press (as they will support that well I'd bet) and a few more of the plugins they support, and you could do well (and start at half the tech the operating cost in yr 1 -- but if you have to pay someone to do your plugins etc, you probably won't save anything!)

    Ontraport (formerly Office AutoPilot) seems good if Membership is only a portion of your business and you want broader automation capabilities...again 100% hosted (but not sure they open-up to HTML code - so be sure you like what they offer).
