Ideas to start a business within music genre [grime]

Im really into Grime Underground Music in the UK.

I really want to start my own business within the industry.

I thought about doing clothing but the numbers just arent adding up with the contacts I have found.

Has anyone got any ideas for a project that I could start, its not all about the money for me however I would like to earn a decent income from the venture itself.
But its more about the fun of doing something within something I love tbh.

Thanks a bunch any input would be fantastic.

Music is a tough business. Do you have any relevant experience?

It would be interesting to see at how you can market to fans of a certain genre such as grime. Perhaps look at something broader like hip-hop for examples. What elements of grime 'culture' can you appeal to? Fashion? Advertising on internet radio stations?

You could create a valuable resource that helps new artists be successful. How amazing would it be to help aspiring artists achieve their dreams?

Also, a lot of the music industry is cloaked in confusion and darkness. If you could shine a light on the business side of things, I think a lot of people would be interested.

Most artists I know started because they wanted to play music. It's only later on that they had to figure out the business side and how you actually make a living from it. Maybe you could help talented artists go from talented and unknown to successful.

You could explain the process of signing publishing deals and producing music. If you grow your site large enough, publishers might partner with you as a sort of talent finder.

It's really hard to make money in the music genre (unless you are the band, getting paid gigs and selling merch). U could start a blog about it, review some of your fave tracks, and have links to download/purchase albums. u could also design shirts/etc and sell those on your site too (even by using zazzle or cafe press).

You could start a few different social media campaigns for different ideas and track how well people respond to them. It could prove to be a rather inexpensive way to poll your prospective clients.

The 2 most important things for musicians; quality recordings and awesome music videos. If you can do either one, you can make ok money, but it's still hard.

As a musician, it's all about recording, making a video, touring and selling merchandise. And having fun of course!
