How Can You Charge For Phone Consultations?

I'm going to be doing phone consultations soon. Is there a way for people to call in to a 800 number and be charged per minute they talk to me?

You can easily do this with Skype. You can set a price per minute and the other person has to accept for Skype to connect you.

It goes from their Skype account into yours - which you can pull out into Paypal.

You would really want to test this with your customers - I have a feeling that charging for 30-minutes, 1-hour, 2-hour increments would be more accepted by them - so they don't feel like every minute is costing them more money.

I charge flat rates by the hour, demand pre-payment and even have a set of questionnaires that I send out to my clients ahead of the call to enhance the quality and value of the call.

Provide tons of value in a free call and ask them if they want to continue 5 one hour coaching sessions for x amount and 12 coaching sessions for double.

That has always worked for me. Book your next time together on the phone.

Then after your call send them an email with a link to a webpage with each of the two options and kindly request they make a decision shortly to secure your upcoming appointment time.

That usually works for me.
