New Affiliate Marketer

First off wanted to say Hey all,

This is my first post here. Been lurking for a while and have learned a ton. I am interested in Affiliate marketing and have been accepted to a couple of networks and had a question.

Is there a benefit to using the networks offers as opposed to just flat out being an affiliate for say netflix? Is it having the Affiliate Manager? Also I have been trying to figure out the best sources of information for affiliate marketing, so if you guys could give me some good blogs/websites/ect that you like that would be awesome. Thanks

Lol I'll be sure to buy that. Is this just a stupid question that is "obvious?" And I should know that answer?

Start off on the right foot.

    Don't over complicate things.

Pick a profitable evergreen niche (as in not a trend), learn about that niche, build a list in that niche by offering a free product on a squeeze page, put all your effort into driving targeted traffic to your squeeze page, provide lots of value to your list by giving them free information, then promote affiliate products to your list.

    Then repeat.

Get traffic - Provide value - Promote affiliate products.

Seriously, don't fall for the "Internet = Easy Money" BS that most Internet marketers fall for.

You're dealing with real people, sitting at home on their computers, they want questions answered, problems solved. Be the person who helps them and you'll be the person they trust, the person they trust giving their hard earned cash to.

I know this isn't the normal hype you hear, but it's the truth.

    Good luck

    Carl

      Carl,

Thanks for a great reply! I hear you on not falling for scams and I have already made that mistake in the past . My biggest question really is though what are the benefits of going through an Affiliate Network as opposed to going straight to a company? I am really trying to figure this one out, and any insight on the question would be great. Thanks
