Wordpress portal Questions

Can I know if wordpress has a portal function to it? Can i create a wordpress portal site? Sorry for newbie question.


Also for newbies, do you suggest using wordpress thesis themes?

    Can you be more specific with your question?

    If you mean a single page where you have an optin box at the bottom (called squeeze page , landing page) then yes. there are plugins that you can use such as optimize press, profit builder etc.. they worked great and can easily create pages with a simple point and click.

    If you mean a membership website where people needs to login to see the contents then you can check optimizepress or Amember. These are plugins that will help you build a membership website.

    Yes you can create web portal with wordpress. And yes thesis is a good option.

    You might want to look at other options like: Genesis and elegant themes

    I've used Thesis before. It's a great theme that allows you to customize it any way you want.

    The ONLY downside is that Thesis does not support Wordpress menus!

    For that reason I had to change to a different theme
