Using some else's videos for membership site

I found some videos on YouTube I would like to use on the free section on my membership website. When I have any legal issues if I was to use those videos which are free to use or view on YouTube for free section in membership website?

you cant use Someone video from youtube for your own. First you need to ask for permission from author and If the author will allow, then you can use it, in other way its "illegal" in terms of youtube.

I think he is talking about embedding videos.

YouTube license allows you to embed any videos from YT on your site. If a publisher does not want their videos embedded on sites other than YouTube, they can disable embedding.

You can't put YouTube videos behind a paid member site as the primary content. You cannot charge for access to YouTube videos. But if you have a paid site with mostly other content, a few supplemental YouTube videos likely wouldn't be a problem since they are not your primary content.

Since you are proposing to use the YouTube videos an a free area and not behind a paid member site then it is probably okay.

I say "probably" because I don't know enough about exactly how you plan on setting things up.

Why not watch the video...watch the video again...watch it one more time...really digest the content...

    Then make your own video

you cannot use other peoples property as your own. you will be sued for that. I you really need to use the video you can then seek permission from the owner but why dont you create your own video? dont you think that would be much better

He is talking about embedding YouTube videos. As mentioned above, this is perfectly acceptable for his purposes.

Of course you can embed the video on your membership site. There is
one very popular membership product that has a YouTube video for
almost every lesson as "further info".

You people need to stop making things up.

It is absolutely allowed for the OP to use whose ever videos as long as he's not sticking them behind a paid member area.

Jill is right you are not downloading it and uploading it as your own, you can display the youtube on your site, but send the traffic to his video, but why in the world would you use someone else video, when you can promote your own

Often times a course will use a YouTube video for information the student should already have and/or the instructor does not have time to teach in his course.

If you don't know how to install WordPress in cpanel then watch this YouTube video. (I don't have time to go through that.)

If you don't know how to sign up with Aweber then watch this YouTube video. (I don't have time to walk you through that.)

That's the most common way I have seen YouTube videos used in courses and member sites.

This is practically right. Even in paid membership area, this happens a lot. As long as you know what kind of video is right to be embedded in your paid membership area, then it would be fine. Do your own due diligence.
