Interview coaching business...blog? Info product?

Hi all

I want to set up a business based around interview coaching (mostly phone or skype based) for a certain field. I have tons of experience in this field and have helped countless people get jobs - I think I can add some real value. I have lots of good testimonials. Target market would be primarily US and UK students (w UK as primary focus). I imagine a lot of wealthy Chinese international students also (and those based in China / HK). In fact I imagine these would comprise probably 50% of demand.

I have 20 topics in mind that I could easily write blog posts on (or include in a book). What would be the best way to monetize this? A few blog posts accompanied by a book or course and also one on one coaching? Or make all the blogs available for free to drive traffic and then just do the coaching for cash? Should I drip feed these posts? Should they be a certain length or have certain keywords for SEO purposes? I think the problem w an ebook is that it will get ripped off...especially w students as the main market.

I have no idea where to start when it comes to web design, SEO, etc...any resources or help would be much appreciated ! Would targetted fb or Instagram advertising work?

Also, would a UK or US site be better in terms of SEO? How can I drive the Chinese traffic?

Very niche. No point trying to reach everyone. Tagrgetted. Will do in person marketing also.

Not trying to make millions here. Just 5-10 coaching sessions per week would be an end goal!

I'll answer this piece by piece...

You already have your target market down as you said you think it will be US, UK, and Chinese clientele and if you know you can add some real value, go for it. Since you've already helped people and have testimonials to prove it,even better!

I would start with about 5 -10 blog posts if I were you just to get started having something on "paper" so to speak and if you were looking into drip feeding them you could take one of your blog topics and break it into a 5 day series or something similar. The main thing is just getting it out there and online. You can try to segment your readers with serious people by offering an Ebook to people who opt in to your email list and you can offer coaching at the end of the book.

As for Facebook/Insta, it can never hurt but I can't imagine you getting many clients from Instagram just because of the service you are offering. Facebook, I think it would be very possible and you should get a page up asap.

From reading your question it seem like you really have everything you need within you to make it happen, now you just gotta package it all together and advertise!

    Cheers!

you have what many people luck when they want to start offering their service or when they want to start a business. You know what you are best at, you know your target market, you have the necessary experience and you have prove that it works. this means you are not starting in a new niche which you dont understand. all you need now is to just take action and start. promote yourself through social media like Facebook, write blogs which will help market your business and enjoy your fruits. All the best

Thanks guys. Can anyone recommend a WordPress theme or a place to look for them? Or a hosting service? Or some website that teaches you how to do all of this?!

    Thanks!

How much is your budget? If you're looking at a $50 - $100 initial budget with low monthly cost then you can check the usual GoDaddy , Bluehost or similar hosting companies and find a good theme.

    Usually the breakdown would be:

    Hosting / Domain - $5 - $10 per month
Wordpress theme - $15 - $30 (if you find a discount coupon for themeforest)
Autoresponder - Getresponse or Aweber where you get 30 days free trial and $15 per month initially. This will be used to capture emails and send newsletters.
Logo - $5 just go to fiverr.

Note: This setup is minimum specification and once you got your traffic up and you are already earning enough, you can upgrade your host to something more reliable such as WP Engine.

For tutorials, youtube would be your best bet. There are a lot of videos showing you how to setup things.

Thanks all. I imagine a lot of traffic will be through google. What's the best way to maximize this? Keep in mind it's a pretty niche topic so the search phrase will be specific (although there is a little competition).

    hi
you have all you need is a scheme to start
I would start by first of all blogs
you can find many on the internet about how to make a blog
the blog is one of the finest examples of new forms of marketing
you do question about the keyword
key is choosing the right keywords, the keywords are better if more than one, and then certainly looks good Seo.
I found a lot of information on the Internet, guides, video tutorials how to make a winning plan but also important for me to study so much, so much perseverance, patience and determination!
    good job
