Advice & Tools For Referral & Social Media Traffic

It seems I am going to have a little more time on my hands and I wanted to start building some traffic to my website Bible Studies Online For A Solid Faith - On The Line Ministries. After using Fiverr to hire the highest recommended person to perform SEO I noticed they used the same tactics that had one of my sites dropped from Google years ago. So I have decided to go more for referral traffic and social media.

Now here is my question: Are there any automated tools to help me gather information about where to get this kind of traffic from?

I know the obvious places such as Facebook, Youtube, and Twitter. But I have found that building a relationship with the right blog owners seems to work best. Especially since they are much more targeted.

Aside from this I would also like to improve the following on Facebook, Youtube, and Twitter. Are there tools or tutorials for this you may be able to recommend?

One last thing I would like to mention is that I believe manual contact is best in all cases, but I think a blend of PROPERLY used tools (mainly for information gathering) and manual contact is even better.

    ** Google Trends;
    ** Youtube Trends Map;
    ** Twitter Search;
    ** BuzzSumo.Com;
    ** SocialMention.Com;
    ** BoardReader.Com;
    ** SpyFu;
    ** WhatsTrending.Com and
    ** Good old Google ...

    We use these to do the following things:

    1. Pinpoint key influencers, trending blog posts and video pages, Facebook pages, Facebook groups, Twweets, news, Web forums, other social communities and so on that are significant, relevant and trending across our target audiences;

    2. Develop onsite and offsite content (offsite content is mostly for our social pages) about hot news / trending topics / viral feature stories that are significant and relevant to our target audiences;

    3. Find social communities and groups where we can participate in so as to share these news, feature stories and trending topics;

    4. Try to get premium media coverage about the things that we're currently doing, and share these published materials across our onsite and offsite networks;

    5. Implement "top-of-mind" advertising campaigns across the networks where our target audiences hang out (these include sponsored updates, PPC / PPM / PPV, press rlease distribution, etc.); and

    6. Directly contact social network group members, Web forum members, bloggers and others who may have shown interest in our content shares, posts, pieces of advice, other content materials and so on in those offsite networks, especially when we feel that we've become a familiar name to them because of our press marketing and "top-of-mind" promotional campaigns in those networks ...

    NOTE: We directly contact them for revenue share arrangements, private ad placement deals, guest posting offers and other mutually beneficial strategic partnership proposals ...

    To track your social media activities and traffic, I believe google analytics is still best for that job. If you want to learn more just google "Google Link Builder", it is part of the google analytics where you can track where your traffic is coming from using a single link (including social medias)

    To increase your twitter followers (my main source of traffic when I was just starting out). I use unfollowers to manage my account. (alternatively there are similar services out there)
