Traditional And Modern Affiliate Marketing
When I first got started online full-time, I am pretty much involved in traditional affiliate marketing.
What traditional affiliate marketing is about is you promote digital / information products from online marketplaces like Clickbank, JVZoo, Paydotcom and Warrior Forum.
It can be internet marketing course or other niches like health, wealth and self-development.
What I do is I created a free 5-10 page report from Open Office and Microsoft Word.
Within this report, I compiled a series of 5-10 articles either created from scratch or rewritten from PLR or Private Labels Rights articles in which the author gives you the right to do whatever you want except selling the rights to others to do the same.
Once I completed that report, I designed a squeeze page giving that free report as a bait or reason to get people to optin to my list.
Then upon receiving the report in Thank You Download page, I presented them with a one-time offer of either my product or other people's products I promoted as affiliate.
If they buy, I earned. If they don't buy, I will keep in touch with them with my followup emails providing either free information, one-time offers and other products related to that niche.
However lucrative other marketers made that offer to be, I see one major flaw in that model that most people DON'T see.
And do you know what that major flaw is?
The flaw is -
Unless you are someone of great credibility or aligned with someone of great credibility as your mentor or teacher in your niche, you are not going to make much $.
You can still make a couple of $100 and occasional $1000 each and there.
But you are not going to hit consistent tens of $1000 and even $10K like most gurus proudly proclaimed on salesletters which you and I are pretty familiar with.
Unless you have a huge mailing list.
Of not just subscribers and customers.
But of affiliates and JV partners helping to recommend and promote whatever you buy.
Let me ask you another question.
Do you receive emails from different marketers everyday?
If so, do you open up all the emails, read from top to bottom, click the link to salesletter, go through the entire copy or video and then buy the product?
If your answers are mostly no, you are thinking exactly the same as most people out there.
That is why MOST marketers - especially newbies and even intermediates - are NOT making the $ they want or any at all even if they got a great product and sales funnel.
Having been in this model for 5 and a half years now, I turned to what I now called the new affiliate marketing model in the second half of the year.
It is based upon a 6-figure marketer's business model. He used to make a lot of $ doing this model and now making a lot more $ using the new model which I am going to talk about in the next post.
