Finding Most Popular Articles, Tweets, Posts, etc. In A Niche...

Hi Everyone,

I have a new niche that I'm going to be creating a website for and I'm trying to determine what are the best topics to write about. For example, if my niche was "chocolate", topics might be:

1) "What Is Chocolate"
2) "How To Make Your Own Chocolate Bars"
3) "Which Chocolate Is The Best For You".
etc...

I know that there is a keyword tool that tells you how many searches there are on certain keywords, but I'm thinking of another angle...

Perhaps a good judge of what topics are best to write about in a niche are those that have the most likes on Facebook, or reblogs on Tumblr, or retweets on Twitter, or "whatever" on other social media...

Is there a tool out there, or a way to determine which topics are the most popular for a given niche?

Please chime in and let me know what you think...including if this is a good idea...

    The closest tool that I can think of when you said "a way to determine which topics are the most popular for a given niche" is using BuzzSumo: Find the Most Shared Content and Key Influencers

    This is a very powerful tool that lets you know which articles/topics are being shared the most from different social medias.

    The way I use this tool is I gather all the popular contents and create a similar one, sometimes I enhance the article and share it through my own medium.

    Try searching for forums that are about are close to the topic, join the forum and base you content around the things that people are talking about in the forum.

    Hint: Make post there and link back to your site this helps with the search engines when they rank your site in search results.
