Twitter Help Needed?! How Do I get 6557 in 40-60 Days?

Have you actually seen one of the accounts he is selling or talked to someone who bought one?

Well, there is a way to get a lot of followers in a short period of time. I used this tactic a while back but dropped it, simply because IMO, it's not the best way to build a Twitter presence when very few are able to listen to you and you can only listen to a small fraction back.

I would much rather have 1,000 followers who listen to me & I listen to them than 100,000 followers who only listen a fraction of the time and no real relationship has been built.

Social media is about relationships, not mass inflated numbers that have really no meaning.

So, anyways this is how to do it if you're still down:

- Find popular people who have a fair amount of followers, in your niche.

- Have 15 or so that you add one of their tweets to your favorites.

- During random times of the day, go to your favorites, click on their profile & click on "Following". Follow each person on the entire first page. Rinse and repeat with the rest of the feeders.

- Before reaching 2,000 followers, make sure to not follow too many at once, otherwise you will just get stuck under 2,000 (and it makes you look spammy) since you have to have at least 2,000 followers before you can follow more than that.

- Use at your own risk.

Not the smartest way to grow your following IMHO but if you want to gain a lot of followers fast, this is how one would do it.

I don't understand why people seem to keep talking about this like there's some secret to it.

Here's the skinny.

Twitter will let you follow enough people each day that you can get 500 new followers a day just by following the maximum you're allowed and watching many of them follow you back.

If all you do is spend a month doing this (unfollowing those who don't follow you back within 24 hours or so) - you will have 6000 in one month.

Obviously there are more elegant ways to achieve this and you can get many more followers just by tweeting stuff that people want to retweet and putting yourself in directories that new tweeters look in for relevant people.

Then there's the people with massive followers that will also follow you, if these people retweet something of yours - you get lots of new followers.|

This stuff isn't rocket science and you don't need any tools to do it, but using some (like tweetdeck to make sure you see messages from your friends) just makes it easier.

I have my own tool for managing multiple accounts but it's not hard to do manually.

So you don't need spend hundreds of dollars, just maybe $10 for a tool or something if you really want to but you can do it yourself.

The problem with following people just so they will follow back is the are usually unresponsive, not interested, not engaged, or worst of all, spambots. There is not even now much of a social proof benefit because a lot of people associate highly skewed follow to follower to tweet ratios as the sign of a spammer.

It's a sure-fire way to fill your DM inbox with crap and not have anything to show for it. Put a tweet out and get no replies, no link clicks, and no retweets.

A far better approach is to build your followers organically through conversation, offering something useful, and so on. When you tweet then you will get clicks, replies and retweets and have some real return on your time investment.

I agree Chris - that's what I do on my main account.

I'm just addressing this issue people keep coming up with of "someone is trying to sell me XXXX followers" or "how is it possible?".

The numbers bit is easy - but for some reason it's the bit most people focus on - I believe because there are so many people trying to sell them 'the money is in the list - even on twitter, so the bigger the better' type fluff.

There are a lot of IMers who have a philosophy of "it's all a numbers game" and they apply it to everything, which makes them easy targets for stuff like this with Twitter, and it's why so many people crawl out of the woodwork with something to sell them.

The same as with the WSO section - people know that newbies want to here "you can make XXXX dollars in XX days" so there's a lot of crap there trying to reach those people.

Now, I've been around long enough to know that you can make money with the "it's a numbers game" approach - but it's not usually a good long term strategy, so it's not normally my focus, but it is for a large enough number of people that sometimes I get the urge to give people strategies that cater to it.

I am testing it out today. My personal account, I got a couple hundred and like it that way since it is real followers, not spam. I am trying on another account (videomarketingi), so follow and get followed and test the spam thing.


I can say that getting a few hundred followers is easy, if you dont care for quality.

Well if you think mass adding is wrong and it provides no value I am here to tell you, you are wrong. Sorry to say but twitter allows me to target specific people that would be interested in what I do. Simply go on twellow and do a search for your main keyword. Article marketing I use for my blazing articles account. I make a tweet on there about a new article and get around 200 visitors from it. While the other 1800 may not view it thats fine with me thats 200 people I would not have had coming to my site then before.

Mass add works and you can easily keep your twitter account to the point where you create a list and add in the people you really want to follow and keep in touch with. There are so many programs out there now that organize everything for you that this is easy to do. Honestly the internet is a numbers game here people. The more numbers you have the better off you are. You get traffic from search engines which are people you never meet but having them comment on your blogs and getting in touch with them builds a relationship and a repeat visitors or buyer. Same thing with twitter just another means.

Go out there and get yourself some followers! Oh and you can do it free with 5 min each day.

If you're going to be paying, you might as well try twiends and twitnest tweet adder.
