having all my sites share the same word in the domain a good idea?

I have found quite a lot of .com domains available for some niches I want to get into. Some will use SEO but most of them will get traffic from social media, email, paid, etc. I'm not trying to register them for EMD/Page Ranking purposes either (although if it does help with rankings so be it, SEO is not my main priority) They are just really good short domains.

Here's the thing. All these available .coms share the same adjective before the main keyword. For ex.: awesomeniche1.com, awesomeniche2.com, awesomeniche3.com, etc etc.

I have like 15-20 of these and they're pretty sweet and short and easy to remember. They're not complicated at all.

My question is if it would be wise to have all these domains link up under a main company site. Would linking all these domains and having them all fall under one big footprint cause me any issues? I don't plan on doing anything shady and any links I build will all be manual and will not break googles TOS.

Or would it be better to just keep them apart?

I think 301 redirects can be powerful in ranking meaning if you redirect a domain with ranking power, then the link juice passes to that domain. Many blackhatters use this method. But if the domains have no rank, I am afraid it will not be of any use.

redirects? no each domain will have a site setup for its specific niche. you know like articles, reviews..amazon/adsense type affiliate sites.

Just wondering if all these sites linking to each other (with no seo intentions...just authority attention i suppose, if anything at all) can be bad in anyway.

Maybe it can even be good. Lets say all these sites start gaining traction. some with organic traffic from search, some with facebook/twitter/instagram profiles with 1000s of friends/fans, and 1000s of email subscribers can be profitable for advertisers and they would find the company site in the footer of these sites turning it into a decent traffic hub/network.

But I'm also worried about listing a bunch of niche sites under one main site. Maybe some competitors can find it and apply neg seo or something. Is this something I should strongly consider?

Personally, I don't see any advantage to having the same word in all your domains unless you plan to use that as your branding. But since the domains are in different markets, it's not going to help you much in brand recognition because your customers most likely won't recognize your brand.

Of course, the decision is yours . . . but I really don't see any advantage to the "sameness" of all your domain names.

yeah me either. it's just this specific adjective is short and lots of niches are available with that adj+main kw. I didn't start off TRYING to have them all use the same word. I just searched and then tried it for another niche and realized there were a lot of good domains with that word.

That's when I thought about the main questions in the OP as to whether it's a good idea to "house" them all under one main company site, and sort of be represented as a traffic network. Like how some online magazines do with all their brands. They have an "Our sites" link in the footer of each e-magazine or some sort of link to the publisher of all those mags and in that main site you're able to get more info or even sign up for advertising on one of their magazines.

As the previous comment said, if you plan on building some kind of brand with your specific keyword that might be a good idea like the Awesome Company Inc. owner of awesomeniche1.com, awesomeniche2.com and so on. But be sure that there is useful content on each of the site you link to.

Personally, I hate exact match domains, they look so amateurish and generic. Also, they don't rank like they used to. Seems like a lose/lose situation IMO.

Maybe. I dont know if im going for brand or more just a traffic hub/network that specializes in driving affiliate sales via social media, email, ppc, seo and has a large user base with a detailed demographic of niche1, niche2, niche3.

But really im not wondering if i should do it or not because i already know I'm going to register quite a few of these domains because they are rock solid (this seems to be a debate and its hard to prove without giving it away but just take my word that the adj is not scammy looking and it fits in well with most of the main words) and SEO and Ranking is not something I'm worried about the slightest bit, especially in 2015/2016 where SEO is just a fraction of a percentage of the overall internet user-base (a lot of people seem to forget some sites boast 100 million + users lmao...seriously who needs seo with some of these huge traffic hogs XD.) really just wondering if i should be worried about privacy of sites or something like that but i guess not.

I dont see how it can be a lose/lose though. IF nothing bad comes of all these sites having a footprint, its business as usual. so im thinking really...its just a win/who gives a F***.
