Backlinking Question - Impact on Domain

Hi warriors,

I had a question regarding the impact of backlinking on your domain. Here's a hypothetical example:

I own a website with the domain KittyTickles.com. I write a guest article on a very popular website, with a backlink going to KittyTickles.com/MeWoW.

KittyTickles.com/MeWow begins to explode with traffic and sees a rise in page rank.

Will this also positively affect KittyTickles.com and all of the other pages that are a part of that website, assuming no additional traffic is driven to those pages.

I tried searching the forums for an answer to this, but was unsuccessful.

    Are the pages linked together? If so then yes. If KittyTickles.com/MeWow is an orphaned page and links to nowhere, then no.

    The thing about backlinking is more on building credibility, and determining the importance of a site. Backlinking doesn't reflect much on traffic, though it helps too but not as much because the purpose it serves is most likely for search engines.
