Your very first sale - What was it and for how much

I was just reading this thread here...

http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...irst-sale.html

And got to thinking...what was my first sale? When was it and what was it for?

Then I remembered.

It was back in 2005 for a site that I had invested quite some time into, and it was for an advertisement that someone had placed and actually paid for.

I was absolutely in awe. I was so happy and amazed! I just remember sitting there staring at my paypal screen for about 15 minutes!

I think I told everyone at work that day.

And the amount?

$5

Oh yeah!

So, what was your first sale? What was it for? When and for how much?

My first sale was on ebay in 2008. From memory, it was about $5. The best part was, sales just started pouring in. It was one item, a Relaxation CD which I purchased resale rights to and from memory, I sold something like 30 units in the first week. I'm still selling the same Relaxation CD to this day, sold about 1500 units in just over a year.

I too was in awe! I also stared at my paypal account for ages when the first CD sold.

My first sale was $2500 for a website I had built and sold because I was really stuck for money. You'd have thought that would have been the start of something great but I hadn't heard of site flipping, and moved on to where I thought the real money was ... adsense  Biggest mistake of my life! It took me two years to get back to the site flipping!

My first sale was an educational product. I got a $22 commission. I thought it was a mistake. I didn't check my account for 2 days because I was traveling, and came back to find I made more sales. Now I caught the "bug."

i remember my first two transactions, i just dont remember which one happened first.

One was on ebay. I sold the Rich Dad series books I had (i think it was 5) after I read them. I mispelled y putting Rich and Dad together and the bids didnt quite come in. last minute someone more aware than i was grabbed them for 1.20£. Lesson learnt.

Second one was as an affiliate in a PPC campaign. I had bought this product from Chris Cobb and started promoting it on adwords. first comission was 27 dollars and change. When I saw that in my CB account I had a rush like none before ( and I am a former recreational drugs user, just so you get an idea). Ihad 7 of those rushes in total, six for the products and the seventh when i got the cheque through the post. Glorious day.

I was blessed with a pretty nice first sale.

It was a dog stroller that netted me around $30!

From that point on I was hooked. LOL

Ebay - $125 for a steadycam made for small digital cameras.

I had bought it from B&H initially and they have an offer to sell stuff that was initially purchased there but they did not want this back. It had only been used 2x and was still in the box and perfect!

I was excited to watch the bidding go up on it, and celebrated at the end with a $125. bottle of champagne.

I used to do eBay and made some money from it, but nothing to write home about. I'm not an eBay fan so I don't sell or buy there any more.

I have a website that targets a very, very specific niche. In the 1960's and 70's, my father had access to professional video equipment through his employer and my parents would video tape Drum & Bugle Corps competitions. When they stopped in the mid 70's, they had a nice collection of video tapes. My dad converted them from reel-to-reel to VHS and then to DVD. He copyrighted everything and in 2005 my parents handed everything over to me. I sell the videos on my website. You would be surprised at the number of people looking for Drum & Bugle Corps videos from years ago. I don't do a lot to promote the website, but people find me through word of mouth. I did put a page up on Facebook and right now I have 600 fans.

As for my most recent endeavors, I have three blogs up right now targeting specific niches. Just this week I had one sale through one of the blogs and my commission is $11.97. Also, someone just ordered something from Amazon through a link on one of my other blogs. The amount of the commissions don't matter to me right now. The thrill of the sale and knowing that I can do this is what matters.

The first affiliate marketing sale I made was with SEO Elite back in 2006 for $97 or some where around that amount.

However my first online sale, web related was for a proxy network of about 14 sites which sold for approximately $500.

The first affiliate marketing sales I made, marked the day I started focusing more on affiliate marketing.

My first sale came through an Amazon a-store. When I logged on to check my stats, I was thrilled to see that I had actually made a sale! I clicked the product link to see what had been purchased. Since my a-store niche was refrigeration parts, you can imagine how surprised I was to see that my first sale was for, "1 Doc Johnson's Anal Plug, size - medium, color - black".

The sale netted me $.37, but cost me hours of lost time trying to figure out how somebody went to an a-store for refrigeration parts, and left with a butt plug. I had finally repressed that memory...until I saw this thread.

My first sale was on June 1, 2003. It was a $19.95 ebook that was sold
on Clickbank. My commission was $8.73.

I couldn't believe it. It took me 5 months to make that first sale. Before that,
I had made all of $28 from taking surveys and GPT sites.

      Pathetic, I know.

I was a member of a totally non-IM related forum and became quite friendly with a few of the members over a period of months. One of them was this guy who lived in Spain and owned a couple of restaurants, was wealthy, liked investing, but always wanted more money!

One day on MSN chat he asks me for my clicbank affiliate link for FAP Turbo and says he wants to try his hand at Forex. I'd had a Clickbank account for 8 months, but had never made any money and i never really made any effort to. So i stuck the link into our chat and bam! 10 minutes later i check my Clickbank account. Approximately, $120. He bought 2 - He wanted to have one at home and one for work!

It took me another 5 months to actually get enough sales to get my first Clickbank cheque. However, i won't ever forget that day!

I scored $2.97 on a revshare program in the pornstar niche. Had the member stayed beyond the trial I would have made another $23.97 but the deadbeat left after the trial and I was stuck with just $2.97

I believe my first sale was through Amazon on a portal site I had way back in 2005. The sale of course netted me pennies, but I was still excited someone actually bought something.

My first real sale netted me $25 and it was one of many memberships I sold to a private membership community.

Amazon was easy back then, but like everything it is getting harder to make a buck, you actually have to work a little now.

My first sale was 2006 I sold a Harley Davidson collectors item on ebay for $49 but net profit of $10 after shipping and other newbie mistakes after that I bought a course on ebay that I saw on tv can't remember the name of it now but it was a good course. I thought I had found my riches with ebay then they decided to ban this and that, so I moved on and I didn't make another dime until 07 when I sold a turnkey website for $67 my commision was $30 I consider that my first real online sale. I felt like I had arrived and I remember the elation I felt like it was yesterday. It's kinda ironic because I made a $1000 today and I am grateful but nothing will match the feeling of pride I had when I made that 30 bucks.

Like others, my first sale was on Ebay back in 2001. Can't remember exactly what it was, because I'd listed a bunch of stuff that was left over from a yard sale we'd had and I sold most of it that first week.

I was so amazed at what people bought and how much more they were willing to pay that I swore I'd never have another yard sale.

In between 1999 and 2002 I made about $600 writing for consumer opinion sites (I didn't write much - I think they paid more then), but I don't count that because I wasn't actually trying to make money at the time. I just enjoyed the writing and the online community that went with it.

Like others, the first time I sold something online that I was trying to sell was on eBay, in 2004. It was a diamante bracelet that went for about $9. The rush was eclipsed by the elation of finding out on the same day (in a darkened field on Guy Fawkes night as tons of fireworks went off) that my sister's cancer scare had been a false alarm. I must have taken some notice of the eBay thing though, because I spent the next two years as a Power Seller, selling New Age and aromatherapy stuff.

But oh, am I glad those days are behind me I was only thinking yesterday, as I built yet another affiliate store, how nice it is to be able to stock anything I want without hauling stuff to the post office, calculating how much of it I can afford to stock, waiting in for deliveries, and wondering where I'm going to put yet more merchandise when it gets here. Never again

    Anyways.

My first sale was in the Network Marketing industry. I was very active months
ago, and ironically, i didn't make money from the signup of anybody into my
business, but from an affiliate product that talked about the business.

"Magnetic Sponsoring". Great book not just on NM industry, but developing confidence.

My first sale was for $47 and was in late 2005.

I was reselling Mike Filsaime's "Total Resale" package and had uploaded it to my site. I am not quite sure how that customer saw it, but he (yes, I even remember he was a Latino man) bought the package.

It was a fulfilling experience as I had spent hours on end uploading that package and testing to see that all the "Next page" and order links were working correctly. But it was worth at least $47.

Some more came after that, but not quite as miraculous as the first sale.

I sold a $29.95 monthly IM course which was a JV with a friend of mine.

That was three years ago and I got hooked from the start.

FHA training manual. I think it pays around $38 commission.

I actually have made 3 sales of it. I put a total of 4 hours and $6.99 into the project (not including hosting cost, which I have spread out among a lot of projects.

I really should devote more time to this....I love it, its a challenge, and its profitable. I think I could make a full-time living doing it, just got to find the time now for it.

It is a training manual for loan officers giving them detailed information on FHA standards for originating and closing a loan.

What's amazing about this is I rank #13 in Google...and I haven't touched this since I put it up. No articles, no gathering backlinks, nothing. Its such a small niche of buyers now and a small trickle of traffic, but every now and then I'll get an email notifying me of a sale.

I just made my first sale last week, sold a clickbank product for $26.30, then I sold another a couple days later.

Hoping to make more soon, but the important thing is now that I've actually seen that this is possible, I've got that switch in my mindset from just hoping I can do it, to KNOWING I can do it.

I made my first sale after starting internet marketing for 2 months....

Cant remember what it was, but a clickbank product and i made $19!!

It was like the biggest $19 in my life because it's from something
that i get without working for a job.....

They say all millionaires starts from earning pennies to dollars to hundreds to
thousands.... and this first sale of $19 actually propel me and give me
the confidence to make my first $1000 in a day in the same year.....

Still not a millionaire yet but i'm on the right track....

for those still doubting whether internet marketing works....

all i can say is just focus and do it.... you will soon make your
    $1000 in a day...
