Hi all, I am hoping some Warriors will share some knowledge with me. I am just getting started in the information product industry (not IM niche), and I'd appreciate some pointers about putting together a marketing strategy. I have a writing history - have been published online and offline - so I'm confident about the actual product creation, and I do know some things about online marketing.. I've ran PPC campaigns, created blogs, written articles, etc for my existing business. At this point, my time is limited due to having a young baby, and my advertising budget is not huge. I will find it easier to make time to do no-cost marketing than I would to fund large PPC campaigns etc. I guess my question is, how does everything fit together? Is it better to try a bit of everything, or focus on one type of marketing (blogging, for example)? With time being limited, I know that organisation is key and I really need a daily checklist - so what should be on that list each day? Blog, social networking, articles, videos, podcasts, ??? Would anyone share what has worked for them in the past? My strengths are writing and developing relationships with people. Alternatively, are there any products out there that would help me put this strategy together? I have looked at some of Eben Pagan's, Yanik Silver's, Ali Brown's.. but since they all carry a high price tag I'd like to know which (if any) have helped people in similar situations before buying. Thanks everyone Katie |

I am assuming you already have a site and product up and running. A quick suggestion would be to join the 30 day challenge. In it you will get a free 40 day trial to Market Samurai and Traffic Bug. Plus it will help lay the ground work for everything you have asked. And it's free.

| Ahem. I suggest focusing on one form of traffic generation first and make sure you can make it convert. Article marketing might be a good place to start. You can set up your blog and either post your articles there first, or rewrite them before posting. There's different schools of thought on this issue. Once you start making money with one form of traffic, you can afford to invest in tools or outsourcers to bring in more traffic. |

I would suggest BUM marketing - SEO article marketing to anyone who are comfortable in writing articles. The key to this technique is keyword research, and you can easily tap into search traffic without paying a single cent while getting most long tail keywords' traffic. It may take up to 30 ~ 50 articles to generate hundreds of visitors, and you get better conversion with long tail keywords! Since you sound like a professional writer and you are interested in a no-cost marketing strategy, I would also suggest article marketing. As a pro, you are already many steps ahead! Here are some ideas in no particular order: Choose a topic. Do keyword research. Write articles (with links to ebook sales letter). Write ebook. Write sales letter for ebook. Setup a blog. Install google analytics on your blog to track traffic and sales. Post article(s) to your blog. Post a link to article in the sig file on your forum posts. Post article to article directories. Start monitoring your traffic, sales and conversions. Once you see some success, you can get more mileage out of your articles. For example Write free viral report (with links to ebook sales letter). Write ecourse using articles. Giveaway free viral report - prospects optin and you build a list. Email articles to your list. Create video articles with links to your site. Post to video sites. Some of the stuff above can be outsourced. Regards |

hi. stick to what you know. it will benifit you more in the long run. articles. but do a big press release effort. it can work like articles on steriods. then make you website go straight to the top of the Google page. there is that COMMISSION RITUAL guy that has a brilliant product. his way will really show you a step by step route. do all the linking, digg stuff (social bookmarking) hubb page squidoos. all of that will get your stuff up there fast enough. another way is to do a WSO for the short term and then put it up onto clickbank for others to work for you. good luck with it.. |
