Help! Why is my site getting Adfly traffic?

I just noticed that my site is starting to get crappy adfly users, who stay on it for all of 5 seconds & leave, which is affecting the site's bounce rate.

Any ideas on how to block my site from adfly?

I have never used them, ever, so I'm not sure what started this.

Thanks for any help!
Ken

    Hi,
    Thats something new i heard,
I can not figure out why,

    BUT
what i can do is suggest few things,

    - Make sure you understand all
    the plugins you have installed

    - Delete the plugin that are
    not in use

    - update the WordPress to the
    latest version

    - Install word-fence security and
    that should help a bit.

I hope you figure out why and wish
you the very best of luck....

I have Wordfence installed. I just ran a scan yesterday & it found nothing. Just ran it again & nothing.

15% of my traffic this week has been Adfly...GRRR!

Could it be referrer spam? This is a fair possibility.

How does "Referrer spam" work and how can I stop it?

There seems to be an article addressing this here.

Who cares, bounce rate? If they came from adfly, then that's not how that works. Ignore it and do other things with your life.

Seriously, who cares? It's a spammer 100% for sure, just ignore it unless there's an actual problem (I highly doubt it.)

My worry is that the bounce rate affects Google's perception of quality/rankings etc...

Sigh no, you guys don't understand what's going on here.
Adfly is a url shortener service that pays people to use it.
The spammer, spams your web logs, so you as the site owner go to the url to see what it is.
      And then they earn money.
This does not effect your google ranking, in any way. Just ignore it.

It's fake traffic. Wordfence will not help you here.

You can't, just ignore it. If you feel you need to filter it out of analytics, you can.

If you dont want it use 301 redirects to redirect the traffic from adfly
