I'm getting overwhelmed with invitations to attend various marketing events and need some input. I'm an experienced information-marketer/marketing consultant (low six-figures) who wants to take his business to the next level. The one thing I have not done a great job of is attending conferences and networking. I'm trying to find the right event. One that isn't just for "newbies" but for people who have been working at this for a while but are hungry from growth. Suggestions for events I should consider for the fall of 08? Thanks GentleRainMan |

Find one that is not selling anything. I was seriously burnt by an event in november last year. I did not realise that the whole event was a sales pitch for products I did not want or need. I fell for it hook line and sinker. so Look at the motivation of the conference. You want information and networking opportunities. If all they want is a chance to sell you stuff, forget it. I'm attending a conference in London on 30th september and I know it will be great. The organiser called me personally to thank me for signing up. Now I think that is very classy and reassuring. Sure He might try to sell me something but I know the conference will be full of great content as well |
| The Memoirs Of Edward Rochester - Just imagine if Jane Eyre had been written by Mr Rochester. My first full length novel now on Kindle and In Print on Createspace. That's what I call a niche! | |

Workshops are the ones you learn from, but when I attended my first seminar, I took with me a digital camera, and extra cash. The camera to get pics of me and some marketers so I could post them on my blog. The extra cash to buy a few of them a drink at the bar AFTER the day ends, or lunch or something. My very first five-figure launch was a direct result of attending a pitch fest seminar. If you go expecting an epiphany you WILL be disapointed. If you go with a mission to make CONTACTS, you will win in the long run. In this business, contacts are extremely valuable. Anyway, Mr RainMan, I have a resource for you for upcoming events: Internet Marketing Events Calendar | Seminars, Workshops, Discounts, Bonus Gifts, Interviews & More It has a pretty good calendar of upcoming events. And it doesn't cost anything to look through (not even your email). Hope this helps... Mike | |
