Help me to escape from my Mums house please..

Hi Everybody,

We always hear experts say to write about something you particular like or maybe a specific holiday destination

I love travelling to Thailand especially Pattaya and was wondering how to take my blog forward and start earning more money..

Most blogs about Pattaya concentrate their articles on the sex industry, but i've decided not to go with the crowd and instead build a mini niche type of portal about Pattaya's luxury 5 star hotels which I presume the widowed or divorced man goes to stop to have fun whilst in Pattaya..

I leave England tom for 12 weeks with my very first SLR camera so thiss is my idea to make money eventually..

Go to the best hotels in Pattaya and take better pictures and video than any other site thats promoting Pattaya and add them to a blog post.

then earn commission from sites like Agoda.com: Smarter Hotel Booking

Then rinse and repeat for any other country in the world !

So...

do you think it's a viable businessn to work on or could you suggest as to what kind of business would work for me please ?

Cheers

John Metcalfe

Hotel reviews are very common and with websites like TripAdvisor dominating the scene and offering valuable user uploaded photos, you are going to need to niche further or define a USP.

I would suggest reaching out to your community, get involved in their Facebook groups, g+ circles and related forums and discover a problem you could help solve along with your reviews.

Maybe you could sell complete guides, which offer hotel, restwraunt and entertainment reviews. I don't know, you need to research your niche further.

In my opinion, the easiest way to escape from your mother's house would be to simply not take your return flight. Taking a quick look at AirBnB, it looks like you can stay at the shore for around US$20/night, and it's far cheaper inland. You'd make the same amount of income from your online business, with a much lower cost of living, and no airfare.

You could even take a step further, and offer your tour-guide/concierge services to help travelers before they fly and once they get there. Tell them to book through your links, and your services would then be included for free.

        Hi John-Metcalfe,

I absolutely love Thailand! Best month long holiday I ever took!

I had a look at your blog, and to be brutally honest, I won't trust "booking" through it as it looks a little unprofessional with regards to layout, etc. Maybe amp it up a bit so it looks in line with other Booking Agencies. (Please note, I am NOT an Expert in this field. This is just my opinion and I could be wrong!)

I do remember however buying a $47 ebook from "Kings of Thailand" which was basically a guide on Thailand and how to live in it like a "King". Maybe do something like that? I know a lot of tourists go there so you can market to them.

Also, David has a valid point. Move to Thailand and become a Tour Guide / Concierge! Hammer on the fear that people will rip you off in Thailand, which happens a lot to unsuspecting tourists. Pay would be great and you can live very cheap!

        Just my two cents worth!
