Best time of the month to launch a dime sale

If you've read my posts, you know I like to buy cheapies because I use them like recipe books.

Many of the cheapies are following the scarcity trend;

only x copies left ...
sale ends in 1 hour, 25 minutes, 30 seconds countdown ...
buy before the price goes up tomorrow, or in 2 days, or with each sale

The scarcity things are mostly hogwash, but that last example is often carried through.

What I find intriguing is the number of sales of that ilk that take place at the end of the month when most households are broke.

Is there a reason for this?

    Desperation?

    Seriously, if you find that you have too much month at the end of your money, then there'd be more incentive to find some Magic Beans which will magically generate more cash. That also goes in hand with lowering one's guard about such claims, I would think.
