I hope this turns out to be an interesting post... I have a new blogging site, called Garble. I can't post a link to this site, but if you Google my own blog, 'Foundations of Web Programming', you should be able to find it. Although it is still in beta, in the sense that I'm not charging for its use, it is still very much functional. I've actually been blogging on it for over six months. I'd like to attract new users who would help me to develop it before an official "big launch". I've tried posting an article on SlashDot, for example, but I'm not suprised they don't publish it, since Garble remains almost totally unheard of. How should I proceed? How do I attract a few dozen "serious" users at this time to take Garble to the release stage? I'm not interested in making money at this stage, just attracting the right kind of user. Kind regards, James P.S. Obviously there's some deviousness in this post as I'm hoping those who read it on this forum might take an interest and register, but my interest in how to attract users from _many_ forums or by other means remains genuine. |
