WP bonuses won't upload in plug-ins

Hi guys, hoping someone can give me a clue about what I am doing wrong. I recently bought a BlackFriday deal and it is making me lose some hair. I finally got the principle program (also a WP plug in, but with a outside website control panel), working fairly well, but the pack came with a lot of cool plug ins, and 2 of them so far (that I really would like to use) simply will not load. I am wondering if it is the way the files are labeled if the reseller changed the names, I am not sure.

One is

WP Speed Lock,

the zip file is labeled: 34-WPSpeelLock

I found a video on YouTube on installing and using the program, but the print was so small on the plug in page she was showing, I couldn't see how her file was labeled.

The second one (so far) that won't upload is

everleadwp

It is labeled 06-everlead-wp on the outside, and on the inside file as well, but on the third tier of files it is simply everleadwp

I don't know if I'm overthinking the files names, maybe the files just plain won't work.

When I try to install them, the speed lock says no plug-in file found, the everlock one comes up with an error page I forget exactly what it says, but it didn't load.

I'd appreciate any ideas to try and get them working.

I have for another issue, but yeah, as soon as they respond to the first one, I'll ask them about this problem. Thought it might be something simple enough that others had had a problem with and found a cure for. thanks though.

  • It might not be the actual plugin that's the problem, but the method you are using to upload the plugin....

Most people opt to upload plugins via the Wordpress Dashboard, but sometimes this doesn't work because the file is too large.

The solution to this is to unzip the plugin onto your desktop, and then transfer it to your website using an FTP Client such as Filezilla.

Wow, thanks. You're right. I've just been trying to use the plug-in uploader on WP. I'll give that a try.

Well, it was a good thought. Doesn't seem to have worked though.

When I went to unzip it, it gave me an error that asked if I wanted to unzip it without encryption. there is a problem preventing the file from being encrypted. Both of them said that. I still tried, but did nothing when I uploaded (and I did put them in the content/plugin file--just saying so you know.)

    Anyone ever have that happen?
