Hi, is there a way to suppress certain Pages from appearing from my Header menu in Wordpress? I want certain pages to appear in my sidebar, but not along the top of the page as well. I'm guessing it might be something to do with the following code, but I have no idea what it means? 'menu.topItemBegin' => "<span class=\"l\"></span><span class=\"r\"></span><span class=\"t\">", 'menu.topItemEnd' => "</span>" Many thanks! |

Bonderby, There's a plugin called "Exclude Pages From Navigation". When installed, the page editor screen will have a checkbox to have this page included/excluded from the main nav menu. Dave |

No need for a plugin. Use the widget instead to exclude page id's. |

Thanks but neither of these work for what I am looking for. The widget only works for the sidebar, not the header menu. And the plug-in excludes the page completely not just from the header menu. For example, say I have pages Home, Contact, Privacy, Content2, Content3 etc. I want pages Content2, Content3 etc. to show in the sidebar, but not along the top with the others. The widget can suppress pages in the sidebar but not the other way around that I can see, and the plug-in excludes a page from both header AND sidebar, not just header. Do I have to create them as posts instead? I find pages easier to organise that's all. |

I do not know of any plugin or easy way,but if you look in the header file of your theme by going to themes and selecting editor you could copy and paste the file into word or other editor that would allow you to search for the text of the menu item you are trying to remove and then edit the line. Depending on the theme it may or may not be easy to find and edit. It will most likely be in a section title nav or something similar.. What theme are you using? |
