What to do with this site?

OK, so I chose the 'Parrot' niche and designed a site. I had some content written, made a squeeze page and setup an autoresponder.

I did a little SEO and got first page for lots of training and problem related keywords to do with biting, screeching etc...

The site gets healthy traffic from the search engines for people looking to solve a parrot problems and my review page also gets a lot of hits and sends traffic to the affiliate deals.

Yet I have made no sales.

I think the problem may be the affiliates system just arent setup to convert effectively. There are only 2 sites that offer a decent comission. One of these sights makes the visitor jump through way to many hoops. They have to cofirm their email adress, then go to a link in another email, then click through a few pages before they are even asked for the sale. The other site has a slow loading video with the text at top "please wait 5 minutes for video to load". I don't know why it doesnt stream but it only plays when whole thing downloads.

I'm unsure what to do with the site. I think if I had a simple product for say $9.95, a few bullet points and a buy button on my site it would convert pretty well. But I don't know what to do for product. I don't like parrots, I outsourced all the writing of the site but I think getting an ebook written will be expensive.

Can anyone point me in right direction for creating a cheap product? Could I possibly flip this site with a autoresponder of 150 signups and some organic traffic without sales? How much would it be worth?

Thanks guys

Have you tried putting Adsense (or something similar) on it? I have a niche site getting lots of traffic that just wouldn't work with all the affiliate programs I tried. Hard to monetize, like yours sounds. So I really dumbed it down, took off all the distracting stuff and just made it an Adsense site. Best decision I ever made. It makes over $500 per month now. Might be worth a test run, anyway. Put the Adsense blocks in the best spots and give it a go.

Yes, I have tried adsense but the CPC is very low so the return I get on it is abismal.
