Default Back-linking can increase traffic

Participating in forums and leaving your Gateway(s) as part of your signature block can be a good way to increase traffic to your Website.

However, the point with this method is not to sell or recruit a great deal from these links. The real benefit comes from increasing back-links to your Website, and that means your page will rank higher in generic search engine results because of it—and THAT could mean bigger profits and more prospective team members for you!

You'll need an original Website (a blog can do), NOT an affiliate URL to use this method; or, you could simple use a free URL masking service. An effective, fast way to get thousands of forum back-links is to find forum members who have thousands of posts and nothing in their signature. Offer them a fee ($20 to $50 a month maybe) to place your ad and link. Almost overnight, you could have THOUSANDS of backlinks!

I notice you have no backlinks in your signature. Very clever.

For the record: I will put anyone's link in my signature for a mere $17 per month, and I have way more posts than this guy.

(Joking, of course.)

Hi,

RE: The "selling" links in your sig file. Just don't do it here. It will get you booted out.

As far as linking to your site from your sig here. I saw my site go down to page pr 1 from page rank 3 and 4 when the old WF went down with all my links in it.

I haven't tested it in my sig file here in the new forum yet.

C'mon guys, stop encouraging newbies to blatantly copy and paste to jack up their post counts. That nonsense adds nothing of value to our forum.

Did you do this when you first joined, or did you engage and try to be original?

Hang on, let me just climb down off this here soapbox.... ok. Carry on.

John

Hi John, I do agree with you in principle, but I think this idea is not bad, consider some old folks in the forum who had thousands of post, with little money you get thousands of links...?

I totally agree with John. Let's take the high road and learn to contribute real content. It really won't do us much good to try to figure out tricks and scams. Certainly we want to be better than that.

How is this a trick or scam?

You are merely paying for a service. PPC isnt a scam, yet you pay them for results!

You are doing the same here, paying someone for results. It does not seem unethical nor a scam to me.

I thought it was quite a good idea.

Definitely not a scam. It's another form of advertising like PPC. At first my reaction, seemed like it's just a manipulation of the search engines.

Come to think of it, the link that was in my sig went from a PR3 to PR0 and I didn't really know why, I think it all makes sense now. That had me baffled for a while.

It seems unethical to me. Hate to disagree.
