List Building Technique Everyone Can Use, Even Newbies

I haven't been on the forum for a while because I have been so busy with offline clients (thankfully!) but I wanted to share with the forum a great technique I have been using to help clients build their email lists much quicker.

This will:

- Provide lots of free traffic to your email list very quickly.
- Help you build a targeted list.
- Allow you to repeat with many, many niches.

OK here goes:

The principle behind the strategy is that you will be running a drawing for a grand prize for those who register for your list. While this may seem like nothing new, there are a few things you can do to drive the right kind of traffic to your list so that they stay on your list and eventually become customers.

First, determine your niche that you want to build your list around. Let's use "iPods" as an example, because you want to promote iPods, iPod accessories and music download offers to this list.

Second, decide what your prize will be. In this case you might decide to give away a new iPod Shuffle. These are fairly inexpensive, and can be found on eBay very cheap.

Next, create your sales page describing your Grand Prize Drawing and make sure to prominently display your opt-in form. Also, have a link to a Rules page (an example is here: THE BASTIAN CARPETONE LEHIGH VALLEY FLOORING MAKEOVER SWEEPSTAKESOFFICIAL RULES* NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN) but make sure yours conforms with your states laws.

Once your sales page and opt-in are ready to go you are ready for traffic. So visit this directory:
Google Directory - Games*>*Gambling*>*Contests*and*Sweepstakes*>*Dire ctories

In this directory are sweepstakes directories, basically they are sweepstakes search engines. They organize and categorize sweepstakes offers all over the web so searchers can easily find offers that appeal to them and send them directly to the offers. There are thousands of people using these sites every day. You can submit your website URL to these directories for free to them, most request a reciprocal link from your site to theirs in return.

I have had these sites send well over 500 registrants per day, all for free. Some days I was converting 80% of the total traffic! Talk about targeted.

After a couple of weeks traffic will slow, so time your sweepstakes to be able to run it again when the traffic stops. Make sure to do the drawing and contact the winner AND GET A TESTIMONIAL THAT THEY WON. Put the testimonial on your next sales page.

Rinse and repeat for any niche you want.
