Do Facebook comments plugin or Disqus get most comments ? I like the look of Disqus a lot. But won't visitors have to log in before commenting , while on FB comments he can quickly post a comment ? Any opinions ?

I don't like Disqus because of the sign-in required but I see a lot of sites using it so it appears popular.

Facebook comments are good and you can set the default to have the comment appear on the persons facebook.

But what drives comments more than the type of plugin you use is engaging and controversial content that gets people wanting to voice their opinion and contribute to the discussion.

If you just want a lot of comments, then use an insecure plugin and the spam-bots will fill your page

Well, think about your target visitor and what they are most likely to use.

I've always found across all of my websites the default comment option was best.

Spot on! Default discussion option is best mainly because people want to get something back when commenting on your post. So the default comment option give folks the ability to link back to their websites when commenting on your posts.

Facebook comment and diquss do not allow this, hence you see less comments.

Don't forget to add and activate Akismet to dissuade bots from posting spam all over your site.

Depends on what type pf people will be commenting. If it's other bloggers, than ComentLUV will attract more. Because of the extra link back.

As for the facebook one, people will have to be logged in to their facebook account, just like Disqus.

I personally switched to Disqus because most of my target audience/commenter's already have it and use it. Also stopped all my spam. Plus it has social share on each comment, and automatically subscribes comments to the thread.

With default Wordpress comments, you'll be fighting spam all the time.

Facebook is good for these purposes but don't forget about reddit. It's also well known and already became public place
