Website Down for 2 months and then zero traffic.. HELP please

My website is CaribbeanFood.com , it was up and then I was hospitalized for a long time, around 2 months. Unfortunately, the website was down during most of this this time due to a cloudflare thing!
Now Its back up and everything is fine. However I got almost zero traffic daily now!

I used to get at least 10-20 organic uniques a day and this was rising!

What are the steps required to fix this?

Thanks a lot in advance...

Do you have any mailing list that you had collected from your website?
If yes, then it is better to inform your users that your website is live.
Like this you'll start getting your old users back again.

Guys.. I think the problem is that Google maybe penalized my website as it was down for a while! is there a way to revive this? Im not looking for new traffic sources! the website was already doing fine on google, I just need to revive that!

    Thanks...

You could put it back up and do Submit URL to Google (google that term to easily find it, you just sign into Google and paste the page URLs one at a time--do it for each page) and then Google will reindex the pages fast, sometimes within hours, or a couple days. It may take a while to regain your rankings, but you might have retained them. I don't think Google penalizes sites for being down for a while. When they do penalize they generally send you message via your Google Analytics dashboard if you have that set up.

Check Google Analytics. Has all site traffic ceased? If so, maybe analytical tracking didn't make it to the new site. Check this manually.

Check robots.txt. If analytics passed inspection, now you know something is wrong. The first consideration is deindexation.

A Deeper Check of Google Analytics. OK, all the factors above are fine, where to next? It's time to review Google Analytics again, but go deeper. Maybe page names changed during the relaunch?

Check for host or aerver issues.

If everything above checked out OK for you and you still don’t know why you're experiencing a grave organic search exposure loss, then you may have a less common issue that requires a deeper dive. Perhaps there is a design/code flaw or flagrant over-optimization.

Otherwise, create some more valuable content and check if google crawler start visiting your site more often again.

I just went to your site, that looks yummy! There is just one image in your slider though. Do you do Pinterest? Pinterest is excellent for recipes. I think your traffic will come back. Adding posts to your blog would help. And using SEO practices for those posts, using headers, H2 tags, and keyword density, images with keywords, etc. will help a lot with ranking and traffic. If it's Wordpress you can use a plugin to help. Squirrly is good but not free. Yoast is good, and free.

Try using the same method you used originally to get traffic.
During the time your site was up did you manage to get email optin, social media followers, ect.
Alternatively you could do a press release to announce your site is back up which might result in a boost in traffic that you could use to try and carry momentum and retain some traffic. Other suggestions on this page are great too. Guest Posting and forum posting on sites in the same niche.

    1) Pay for advertising. It's the fastest solution.

    2) Do free marketing as a way to lower your advertising costs.

This should put you back to 10-20 uniques per day.... and rising.

If a website is down, Google will pretty quickly bury it or delist it.

Your site and pages are all indexed (use the SITE: operator in Google)

site:CaribbeanFood.com (Google lists 287 indexed pages)

Since it was down for a while and probably dropped/suspended by Google but is still indexed (i.e. it has not been deindexed) then it will be a matter of rebuilding the SEO.

A lot will come back naturally as the site remains stable and regains Google's "trust".

Other than that, focus on SEO efforts- backlinks, social signals, etc.

There isn't anything "special" you can do other than continue to work at what it was you were doing in the first place.

10-20 uniques a day is such a tiny amount of traffic it is pretty hard to track effectively.

If you get 10 visitors on Monday and 20 visitors on Tuesday, that is 100% increase in traffic in 24 hours. Does that sound impressive?

That might be impressive if you were getting 3,000 hits a day. But an extra 10 visits is nothing.

If the traffic is then 10 hits on Wednesday would you freak out that your traffic dropped by 50% over night?

The volume is so small it is almost statistically insignificant to go from -100% to +100% in traffic and back over the span of 24 hrs.

What would I do mate is:
    1. To start exposing yourself thru forums like this.
    2. Your social media sites informing your followers what had happened so that they will no what's the cause on why it is down.
    3. Check your mailchimp (or whatever you are using) and inform your subscribers of what had happened and that it is live now.

This way, you will gain your old visitors and slowly generate more people to visit in your site.

    Food + Facebook + Pinterest + Tumblr = a lotta traffic.

    Forget Google for now.
