Looking For Simple Effective and Fast Traffic Generation To Blog Pages

I have a blog that has been around for a few years. Other than some Adsense and some other nickel and dime affiliate stuff, I haven't really made much money (or really tried to).

I have been finding and compiling some good keywords and matching them up with some good products to sell.

the keyword and product niches are fairly broad and I would like to concentrate on one post at a time (if possible).

I know how to write and optimize the post - or page - BUT I have kind of lost my way in terms or traffic generation and getting my pages ranked quickly.

I utilize Twitter, SU, Facebook and some other top social networks but they aren't pulling as good as some other niches I've worked in. I also ping the hell out of every pingable site out there.

Can someone tell me a few simple and quick "rinse and repeat" ways to get my pages ranked on the first page quickly on low comp keywords and get some targeted traffic flowing to my posts/pages soon after I post them?

    Corey,

Simplest way is to start commenting on other peoples blogs.

Alex Jeffreys teaches this as the number one way to start. btw I just got off
the phone with him earlier tonight talking about my latest blog success
    story.

    Talk soon

Easiest thing to do is create "satellite sites" on Web 2.0 properties like Scribd.com and EzineArticles.com, etc... Basically sites with high pagerank. Then use Angela or Paul's lists (check WSO forum for info) to build links to those properties. Those pages should rank well, then you can divert that traffic to a sales page or any other page you want.

Alternatively, you can just get Paul/Angela's lists and start building links to your own domains and they should start to rank nicely. I've been doing this for a few of our production domains in very competitive markets (markets/keywords with 1 mil+ searches a month) and I've got SEVERAL domains in the top 10.

Hey, start utilizing article marketing and Web 2.0 marketing using Squidoo Lens, HubPages, etc.

Frankly, the quality of traffic from social networks is not that fantastic. Go for targeted traffic which comes from the Web 2.0 and article pages that rank in Google. That's the most targeted traffic that is willing to spend money.

Another step to take is to start link building to your blog. Voasi said it right. Invest in the Angela's pack and work on building high PR links to your blog. You will see the difference in a few weeks to months.

Putting banners on highly traffic websites for some niches might bring significant traffic. Social media, etc. does not work very well for me.

Going the Web 2.0 Route is definitely a good idea. But I would also encourage you to make sure that your content on your website is top-notch.

I have a traffic guide that goes through many different ways to get traffic. You can find a link to it in my signature.
