Newbie Got A Question

Hi All,

I am really new in this affiliation field (basically ZERO knowledge since last month). Somehow I managed to build up a blog (about 250 average daily visits), a Facebook account (almost 5000 friends), a Facebook Fan Page (almost 600 likes) and a Facebook (around 3000 members) within 5 days. (By the way, I did not buy any ads. I only paid the domain and webhost)

But I have got a problem. How can I use this to promote? Do I need additional channels? Did I do something wrong? I found it frustrating after trying to promote a couple of affiliate links from MaxBounty. But it does not work that well. Or simply should I wait a bit longer and be more patient?

I would really appreciate your ideas and suggestions. Please let me know and I look forward to further discussion.

If you have managed to do everything you say within the last 5 days (questionable), then keep promoting your web site very diligently and be a little patient - it takes time to gain traction in this industry.

Promote using your Fan page, Facebook account. Create videos and upload to Youtube and buy other SEO tools to SEO your website, etc. Get as many traffic as possible using all the methods.

Patience is the key of internet marketing success. Get more traffic to your website! 250 daily visits is too little. Personally for every 1000 visit i earn 20 bucks or so. 250 visits is too little. Do some SEO and get to the 1st page of Google.

You did the correct thing! Keep it up.

Generally people don't buy from you until they know, like, and trust you. They often don't buy from ads until they've seen them a few times. Work at getting a relationship with your blog visitors - ask for comments, if they comment, reply. Ask for their email in exchange for some wonderful free thing they just can't do without, and then send emails to your list, giving them more information, getting them to know, like and trust you. Interact with your FB friends. It takes some time, just like any real life relationship.

Very well said Amber. Relationship and trust is the key to getting your audience to buy from your recommendations.

You should first look into your website logs and see how you got the sudden surge in traffic. So far the traffic sources are "web 2.0" (I say that because of "blogging"). Find this out first, and then come up with a better plan for monetizing your blog with targeted visitors.

    Welcome to the forum.

There is something missing in your story. You don't just pay for a domain and buy hosting and all the sudden get 5000 FB friends unless you bought an established website with those other things already in place or you ran ads.

What's the deal? What are we missing here? It's hard to answer your questions without knowing the full story.

You should continue to provide more contents with valuable information that can benefits the readers to your blog, facebook page and facebook account. This can helps build trust and position yourself as an expert for the things that you intend to promote. Long term, this will help to increase your organic traffic. The heartbeat of marketing online is the traffic. With more targeted traffic you have, there would be more prospects and more sales.
