Default Am I shooting myself in the wallet...?

Hi there....

Let me start by saying i am a long term 'M'er but a relative newbie 'IM'er. I have built a list of 40,000 over the last 2 years in the UK Property market and am looking to grow it further (our paid products are seminars from 49GBP up to 1750GBP).

We have a free 55 page e-book that we pay reciprocal/adswap partners 2GBP per opt in (double) for and i was thinking of putting it on ClickBank.

Here's the thing...i've not used CLickBank before and before i get stuck in i thought i would check 2 things with you guys....

1 - How can I tell if £2 affiliate payment for a confirmed opt in is competitive enough for people to bother with? (Don't want to set it all up for nothing!)

2 - Am I shooting myself in the wallet? ie Offering an affiliate commission for a a free opt in - is that opening myself up to unscrupulous practices where i get a load of dud names and have to cough up my hard-earned for them?? (It's always been OK with trusted partners but by putting it on CB i lose that element of control)

Any advice gratefully received....

Aren't you running a CPA offer? Think you need to test your price point before going ahead with this!

hi.
i have to say that i would drop everything and do this for you.
in my currency i could pay all my bills with 20 signups a day.
all i would do is surf all day.

but! and this is a huge butt.
would those optins be good enough.?

dont do it.
rather pay someone to start up a good article system for you.
check my other thread from yesterday for a way to do it for free.

I have a separate affiliate program that pays on a CPA basis - ie commission on paid sales. What i am talking about here is a separate program just to generate QUALIFIED(!) opt ins. As I said, it has worked well on reciprocal list deals, but I have no experience of cllickbank and similar programs.

So..... are you suggesting i include the CPA Seminar ticket sales in the clickbank program?

And can you elaborate on testing my price point? Which part concerns you?

Like i said - all help gratefully received....!

Thanks Rob. That was certainly my concern - that i would just get gargabge opt ins. As I have said - working with known list partners this is OK as we have control over the marketing etc, but i guess i was being a bit naive taking this to the masses!! (or alot naive thinking about it more!!)
