How to Get a Tweet This/Retweet This Button?

Saw this on another site and would like to know how to set this up:

a Tweet This/Retweet This Button on an article page.

Note: it's not on a tweet, it's on a content page.

Thanks for leads/tools that can do this!

Is it on a Wordpress blog? If so, try

Tweet This, a WordPress Plugin for Twitter [v1.5.1]

(but be sure to change the URL shortening default - the one that was default awhile back would hang the site if the service was down. I've had no problems since switching to TinyURL).

If you're talking about a single static html page, here's what I did over at

Barbara Ling's Income Fitness Blueprint - Online income built on a solid foundation to last a lifetime

1.) Make a RETWEET this button. Here's mine:

2.) Decide what phrase you want to use. I settled on

"RT @barbaraling just released a Free video on scary wordpress errors you could be making - Check it out! Barbara Ling's Income Fitness Blueprint - Online income built on a solid foundation to last a lifetime "

3.) Paste your phrase to a notepad file.

4.) Change:

every space to a "%20"

Copy what results to your clipboard.

5.) Craft your hyperlink like so:

<a href=http://twitter.com/home?status=RT%20@barbaraling%20just%20released%20a%20Free%20video%20on%20scary%20wordpress%20errors%20you%20could%20be%20making%20-%20Check%20it%20out%21%20http://tinyurl.com/ifcheck>

6.) Upload it and test it out.

Checked it out but there's a problem - because there's no space between

Free 1-hr audio overview:Postcards as a Marketing Tool | Postcard Marketing Overview

The url does NOT become hyperlinked as you can see:

Twitter / Barbara Ling: RT @marciasmantras Curious ...

You can remove the dash between 1-hr and make it
1hr to save space, or try:

RT @marciasmantras Curious about how postcards generate quick cash? Free 1hr audio overview Postcards as a Marketing Tool | Postcard Marketing Overview

Are you looking for something like the button on this page? (the # Tweets) at www.ielectrify.com ? If so, that's done through TweetMeme.com - they have a free button you can download and optionally one that works with Wordpress blogs. It's an easy way to get people to tweet your content. Hope this helps!

Postcards as a Marketing Tool | Postcard Marketing Overview

So there has to be a space before the URL to make it "go live." Makes sense.

I like Barbara's solution much better. If there's a small number of Tweets, it's kind of embarrassing to have the number showing up.

I prefer making my own text retweet links, because then readers in feed / rss readers will also see it.

I use RetweetLink.com for that.
