| Hi, first time visitor. A little bio… I am a 55 year old early retiree following 25 years in the IT world, where my responsibilities ran the gamut from programmer, tech writer, project manager, lead performance engineer and senior consultant in my company’s Corporate Architecture and Integration group. My desire now is to start and grow an online internet business to provide me an ongoing cash flow that affords me the flexibility to eventually work according my schedule, at my pace and from wherever I happen to be. My initial thought is to create a blog (in one or more areas of interest) that eventually generates cash flow through a combination of affiliate marketing and marketing my own products, e.g. ebooks. I am also open to other options as well. My strengths include strong writing skills, broad-based business knowledge, as well as specific knowledge and interest in the areas of finance, e.g. trading and investment; wealth management; and health and fitness, among others, acquired and honed over a lifetime of interest and study in these areas. I believe I bring a strong work ethic, an innate curiosity and research skill set, and a desire to learn new things, which have served me well in the various facets of my life. My challenges… an impatience to get up and running as soon and as efficiently as possible; a desire to work closely with others, to bounce ideas off of, share tasks, and take advantage of each others’ strengths; and to provide mutual support and encouragement when needed. Is it possible for a relative newbie to find a more experienced partner, or mentor, who is not in it to sell me a marketing product, but may be willing to trade advice, knowledge and guidance in return for a labor contribution on their behalf and/or future considerations? I would greatly appreciate any advice you could share on how I might best approach my goals. Thanks, Alan |

I haven't been on WF for a long time but there's some awesome people on here so you won't have a problem. I recommend also hopping on Facebook and Twitter as there's some killer (ooops, young folk jargon) I mean "cool" people there too. It's amazing some of the relationships you can form!

Welcome to the forum! There are lots of people here in need of someone with strong writing/copywriting skills (like me). Maybe you could swap services with someone. |
