Honest Opinions Needed!

Hi everyone,

I started a site almost 6 weeks ago, and I am getting some decent traffic (for how new the site is). I get around 60 to 80 unique visitors per day, and around 18-22% stay on my site longer than 5 minutes, many stay 20 minutes to an hour.

I am getting sign ups to my list at an average of 5 per day, which I think is great. My problem is, out of all these visitors I have made only 3 sales in 5 1/2 weeks.

Am I just being impatient, and need to wait until I'm getting more traffic, or is something wrong with my site?

Please take a close look at it (in my sig) and see if anything should be different, or what the problem may be. Maybe I am expecting too much too soon.

Thanks for any and all help!

That's not bad in terms of the number of uniques you are receiving per day, but you should still push it hard promotionally through article marketing and ppc.

In terms of conversions, you should try split-testing your sales pages.

To be completely honest, I wasn't a fan of the color scheme you used for the page. It seemed kind of dreary.

I was going to say the same thing as JJ, it's almost to much, kind of overwhelming.. "what do I do here" thing. To much going on at once.

The big question, what is your main goal for the site? Maybe once you figure that out, you can focus on just that goal. Seems many people try to do everything at once. Thinking they can cover all bases. Just my thoughts.

Maybe it's just me, but I think it's odd when a page is not centered. Is that just my thing?

Ya removing adsense would likely be a shrewd move for this particular site.

Congrats on the traffic. i think your site need a little work. it doesn't seem very professional. you need to left justify all your links, and i would like to see them as one line only. your top banner falls short of covering the whole top of the page. ( I use Opera at 1920x1200). and also since you are selling a product you have too many adds on the right side of the page. i think making your site look professional will pull more buyers in.

Thanks to everyone for your help! I am going to take the Adsense off straight away, and change the whole thing up a bit. Maybe that will help sales. Many visitors hit my Clickbank sales pages, but no one buys. Nothing I can do to change those sales pages!

Thanks again for all your input, I truly appreciate it.

      Hi Tess,

The fact that you have a decent amount of consistent traffic coming though your site is great, and its certainly time to start split testing your sales pages, landing pages and other pages that you require visitors to take action on.

From what I have read, your engagement rate (related amount of time and number of people) is pretty good, however this could also signal a problem as people might be confused about which action you want them to take.

So my advise to you is before you aggressively start targeting more traffic, learn how to make the most out of what you have (via split testing) and then get cracking with additional traffic generation after that.
