Default Your Top 5 IM Tips for Non-IM Biz

I would like to hear your tips and recommendations, in top 5 form for IM'ing for non-IM businesses. I run a service business and I'm interested in mentoring and coaching on getting my websites noticed (also feel free to IM me if you offer this service for a reasonable fee!!).

No run of the mill stuff...I know we need a website and have that!

Thank you so much! This is a valuable website!

Jim

Top 5
#1 - Learn things from IM and Warrior Forum and apply them in your industry.
(you will often be the only one doing certain marketing tactics)
#2 - Findout where your clientele hangout and be there.
#3 - Do One Marketing Thing Everyday - Try every possible things you can do to market your site, track it and do more of what works. I have had videos work very well.
#4 - Get an affiliate program
The Obvious, but I will state it
- Treat your customers like GOLD!!!!

I dont have five tips. Just two!

- Collect the names and email address of all your past, present, and future customers (if possible). Do this with a form on your website.
- Create a weekly (or other appropriate interval) newsletter. Stay in touch with your customers, and they will come back more often for repeat business.

This is pretty simple, but in a nutshell, this is what you need to be doing to accelerate your business with IM. There will be lots of other ideas about actually getting new traffic to your site. But these 2 points are the most important...

Best of luck!

Thanks guys, keep them coming please. I have started to apply some of the tactics learned here in the Warrior Forums and have saw an increase in web traffic which translates to more revenue for the business. I'm still learning so every little bit helps!

Not necessarily pure IM, but...

> Don't treat everyone the same. Real, paying customers get treated differently than opt-ins. Repeat customers get treated still differently. This requires segmenting your lists (or maintaining multiple lists). The 80/20 rule will apply.

> If it's a going business, look at your history and figure out who your ideal customers are. If you're just starting out, you'll want to guess. Then working on adding ideal customers and shedding the ones that drive you crazy.

> Never compete on price. It makes you a commodity, and vulnerable to someone with deeper pockets.

> If at all possible, sell your services in bundles. This might mean combining more than one service into a package deal, or it might mean creating some type of continuity program. For example, my pest company comes every two months and sprays the yard for bugs, and every three months to monitor for termites. Bundle and continuity.

> Don't get so focused on the Internet you ignore other opportunities in the physical world.

1)Find out more about your customers: get their traffic profile such as their demographics, income, etc so that your marketing profile is more targeted

2) Find micro niches that are compatible to your current niche. Create info products to satisfy these niches so it creates more authority for you.

3) Create an affiliate program. Get people to help vastly market whatever you are doing and compensate them well for it.

4) Do JVs with people that are in similar niches. they can help expose you to their customers who might have a semi-targeted interest in your product.

5) Create a forum/community so that people in that niche can interact. It helps create support for whatever you are doing and also allows active discussions which might lead you to creating new products to satisfy their needs.

Build your name, first and foremost, in your niche so you become the subject matter expert of choice.

Get your own name domain name and use that as a springboard for your other ventures.

Get your tag name domain name
as well so it shows up when people start googling your name.

Start building your list yesterday.

Share your knowledge with an open heart.
