New offline strategy pulled a few extra grand this week
My offline business has had some ups and downs but lately things have kicked into high gear.
How did we do it?
GIVE away a full page ad ($100 value) on our local directory. I have a cold caller offering the free ad to business owners to introduce them to our directory. He gets them to come in and we collect their details. During that time we look at their site, suggest possible marketing strategies etc.
The secret.
We DON'T sell them anything. One guy begged us to quote his website redesign and we told him we would revisit after his free ad goes live.
People come in expecting a catch to our offer and leave thinking we are nice guys (we are). We remain approachable and get a chance to meet all the biz owners that we want to work with.
The personality types you resonate with will call you back. So far giving away free pages on our directory has brought in a flood of fresh business from people we like to work for.
